WWE SmackDown live report – September 12, 2025

WWE SmackDown kicks off on Netflix!

We see the arrival at the arena of some of tonight’s protagonists: Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill.

Booker T and Vic Joseph welcome us to the show before showing a video recap of last week’s episode.

Brock Lesnar is in charge of opening tonight’s show. The fans go wild with the presence of "The Beast Incarnate" as he makes his way to the ring. Once there, the crowd is split between those cheering and those booing him. "You suck!" chants echo through the arena. Lesnar responds with a look of disdain. Brock is about to speak, but...

R-Truth makes his entrance

R-Truth performs his trademark entrance, rapping his theme song. Lesnar waits in the center of the ring. R-Truth enters and addresses the fans. "What's Up!" he shouts. Lesnar, however, tells him to shut up. R-Truth gets in "The Beast’s" face and very seriously tells him that he wanted to be the first to welcome him to WWE. Lesnar smiles.

R-Truth then admits that he used to be afraid of Lesnar, but not anymore. "Wow, wow, wow," interrupts Lesnar. "I don’t even know who you are", he says, waiting for R-Truth to give him a good reason for interrupting. R-Truth replies that he came out to let him know he has disrespected John Cena, his childhood hero and his big brother.

Brock says he came to SmackDown looking for Cena, so he asks R-Truth if he knows where he is. R-Truth answers no. " Then why are you here?", asks "The Beast". R-Truth insists he came out to defend his big brother. In disbelief, Lesnar asks him what his name is. "Ron Cena," replies R-Truth. The fans burst out laughing before chanting his new name.

Brock asks once again if he knows where Cena is. R-Truth insists no. Brock asks why he’s in the ring then. R-Truth replies that he’s there to defend his big brother’s honor against Lesnar’s constant disrespect. R-Truth admits that Cena had a rough patch. He turned heel, even made a kid cry, but now he’s back to being himself and will come after Brock. "I’m telling you now, ‘Super Cena is coming for you, man. And he’s bringing loyalty, respect, and two drops of that kid’s tears. So he’s not going to escape from ‘The Beast’, he’s going to feed off her", he says.

Annoyed, Lesnar asks R-Truth why he has a broken tooth. Surprised, R-Truth says that’s not true, at which moment Lesnar catches him off guard. "The Beast" hits an F-5 on him, ripping his own pants in the process. Brock takes the accident with humor, showing the ripped pants directly to the camera before leaving the ring.

We go backstage, where we see Sami Zayn talking with his opponent for tonight. The Canadian is thrilled about the return of open challenges for the United States Championship and about the opportunity he has tonight. Both men have had similar careers, but they’ve never faced off one-on-one. And it doesn’t matter who wins, because he knows they’ll give the Norfolk crowd a great match. Zayn extends his hand, wishing his opponent luck. The camera pans, revealing Rey Fenix. The masked luchador shakes the champion’s hand. "Thank you for this opportunity. I’ll see you out there. Good luck", says the Mexican. Sami leaves, ending the segment.

We see the arrival at The Pavilion at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada –where Worlds Collide will take place tonight– of some of the event’s protagonists: Penta, Dorian Roldán, Marisela Peña, Triple H, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker.

Solo Sikoa delivers a promo in complete darkness. Sikoa addresses Sami Zayn, reminding him that he sacrificed everything to win the United States Championship. "I sacrificed love, loyalty, my own flesh and blood. And all to prove WHAT? SO THAT IT COULD BE TAKEN FROM MY HANDS?" he yells while slamming a table with his fists. "I lost my Bloodline. I lost my Ula Fala. I lost my United States Championship. Change is coming, and it will come sooner rather than later, because I’m going to lead this family and reclaim what I lost. I’ve been waiting in the shadows of others for too long. Now it’s time for others to live in my shadow and in that of MFT," says Solo, surrounded by his faction.

In a backstage video recorded before the show, Giulia and Kiana James approach B-Fab to brag about what they did to her friend Michin last week. Giulia and James point out that they set an example with Michin so that everyone backstage knows what awaits those who mess with them. B-Fab confronts the heels, stating that they only dared to attack her friend because they knew she was busy with The Street Profits. Kiana demands B-Fab show respect to the United States Champion, but the champion interrupts her representative. "No, it’s fine. She can talk like that... as long as she can back up her words with actions tonight", says "The Beautiful Madness". "Perfect," replies B-Fab before walking away.

The Wyatt Sicks interrupt the broadcast with a video. Bo Dallas directly addresses The Street Profits. "We tried with you in Paris. We tested you, but you failed", says Dallas. He makes it clear that they are not at war with the "flesh," but with the "principalities." Erick Rowan speaks, saying he is saddened by the state of Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins. "Your brotherhood is infected, rotten, which means you must make a difficult decision: amputate and save yourselves, or let the disease consume you", Rowan says. "We are not the ones to blame. We are the ones who planted the seed, and now the horns are sprouting. So, where are the Profits heading now? Follow the vultures," Dallas concludes.

The champion attempts to kick B-Fab in the face, but Michin rushes in to save her friend! Armed with a kendo stick, Michin scares the heels away. Michin picks up Giulia’s championship before placing it back in the ring. She checks on B-Fab while Giulia and Kiana retreat backstage.

Aleister Black delivers a video promo. The Dutchman claims he has poisoned Damian Priest and that poison will keep running through the Puerto Rican’s veins. Black says he is both the disease and the cure, and he knows Damian will eventually show the world the hatred he carries inside. Aleister states that the decision is Priest’s alone. He can keep resisting the poison and fighting under his own code, but one fact won’t change: "Violence breeds violence, and I am its prophet", says Black to close his promo.

Then she drags her toward the corner and hits an Annihilator. Satisfied, Jax puts her hands on her hips, making her intentions clear to capture the WWE Women’s Championship.

Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre approach Nick Aldis backstage. Green is still waiting for Charlotte Flair to be medically cleared, although she doesn’t believe “The Queen” is really injured. The SmackDown General Manager assures her it’s a legitimate injury. Chelsea promises to sow chaos in the women’s locker room if her team doesn’t get what it deserves: a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Aldis promises they’ll be able to face whichever team leaves with the gold around their waists after next Tuesday’s NXT Homecoming show. Green thanks the General Manager for the decision. Aldis continues on his way but soon runs into The Miz, who also asks for a title opportunity. Aldis informs him he has already spoken with Carmelo Hayes and given the green light to proceed. The Miz gets excited, believing it’s a shot at the Tag Team Championships. Nick tries to explain that it isn’t, but chooses to walk away, letting Mizanin believe what he wants.

We see the first part of a promotional video focused on the rivalry between John Cena and Brock Lesnar ahead of Wrestlepalooza. Vero Rodríguez interviews Rey Mysterio backstage at The Pavilion at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dominik Mysterio interrupts to declare that tonight he will make history as the first Mysterio to win the AAA Mega Championship. With that, he will become a double champion. The legend leaves, and Finn Bálor appears. He wishes his partner good luck, hoping he can beat the Mega Champion on his own tonight. With that, he leaves with his wife (Vero Rodríguez). “Alone?” murmurs Dominik as the segment ends.

Cathy Kelley interviews Sami Zayn backstage. The Canadian heaps praise on his opponent after the show the two of them put on in the ring. Meanwhile, we see Shinsuke Nakamura in the background closely watching the interview. Meanwhile, Nakamura walks away. “All right, Melo, don’t miss,” Zayn answers, accepting his challenge. Sami leaves, leaving a smiling Hayes behind. However, when he turns around, he runs into The Miz, who scolds him for making him wait.

The Miz informs him he has spoken with Nick Aldis, who confirmed that Melo has earned a title shot. The Miz hopes it’s for the Tag Team Championships, but Hayes tells him it’s for the United States title. The Miz scolds his partner for his recent decisions: first his appearance in NXT and now a shot at the United States Championship. Carmelo needs someone to guide him properly, and that someone is The Miz, who wants to lead him to the tag titles. Melo says he can win the United States Championship and then capture the tag titles alongside The Miz. “Come on, Melo Don’t Miss, brother. Trust me for once,” says Carmelo before fist-bumping The Miz. Hayes walks off to end the segment.
