WWE will celebrate a new episode of Friday Night SmackDown tonight from the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The show will feature several segments and matches of interest, highlighting a special appearance by Brock Lesnar, a one-on-one between Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton, and a defense of the WWE Women's Championship. But it won't be the only title at stake.
In a recent update, Nick Aldis has confirmed that Sami Zayn will hold a new open challenge for the United States Championship. It is worth noting that the Canadian announced the return of this series of challenges that John Cena popularized at one point. In fact, his first opponent was "The Greatest of All Time," but an intervention by Brock Lesnar led to an abrupt end to the match.
This will be Zayn's second title defense in his first reign as United States Champion. Sami won the title by defeating Solo Sikoa in the SmackDown episode held in France one day before Clash in Paris. Taking this into account, it wouldn't be surprising if the MFT leader responded to the challenge tonight.
