Xavier Woods is in full recovery after undergoing surgery that left him out of WWE x AAA Worlds Collide. The member of The New Day was supposed to team up with Kofi Kingston to challenge Pagano and Psycho Clown for the AAA Tag Team Championships, but he was replaced by Grayson Waller after doctors did not clear him to compete.

In a message posted on X, Woods clarified that his absence was not part of a storyline and revealed that surgeons removed a lymphoma from the back of his head. True to his character, he pointed to Adam Pearce as responsible for the situation for, according to him, "ordering" Penta to injure him.

In the ring, Kingston and Waller failed to snatch the titles from Pagano and Psycho Clown, although the celebration was short-lived: Wyatt Sicks stormed in after the match and left the champions lying, making it clear they are aiming for the AAA gold.

With Woods sidelined without a specific return date, it will be Kingston, with Waller as an occasional ally, who will hold the group's banner while The New Day continues its mission to "revive" the tag team division on WWE Raw. The priority, for now, is Woods' full recovery and his return to the ring when he receives medical clearance.
