A fight between John Cena and Goldberg never came to be in WWE, and many fans still wonder why. Both superstars coincided in the WWE locker room for several years, when Goldberg returned in 2016, but the company did not consider that possibility.

During a Q&A session at FAN EXPO Boston, John Cena responded with total sincerity. "Well... because nobody told me. That's the best answer I can give," he replied with his characteristic serious humor, eliciting laughter from the attendees.

Far from lamenting, Cena took the opportunity to reflect on his career. "Instead of thinking about life as 'why didn't I do it,' I prefer to see it as 'I did it' or 'I had the opportunity to do it.' I think that's a good perspective," he explained.

The veteran recalled that, although he never faced off against Goldberg or legends like Steve Austin or André the Giant, his career is full of historic matches. "I was fortunate to fight against CM Punk, The Rock, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Edge... the list is very long," he pointed out.

With that review, Cena made it clear that he harbors no resentment for the dream match that never happened. Goldberg retired this summer after losing to Gunther in a match held on Saturday Night's Main Event. After the match, he cut a promo that was interrupted by the network, something that angered the former heavyweight world champion.
