Amid rumors about Joe Hendry's future, Sports Illustrated, through Jon Alba, has confirmed that the former TNA world champion has not officially signed with WWE yet. However, the journalist assures that he is already in the process of being phased out of TNA programming, with a view to making the definitive leap to the company, led creatively by Triple H.

According to the report, both WWE and TNA assume that Hendry will be part of the roster permanently at the beginning of 2026. Despite this, TNA President Carlos Silva has stated that Hendry remains under contract with the company.

Although many fans have speculated that Joe Hendry has an official contract with WWE, that is not the case. However, sources indicate that he is gradually being removed from TNA TV, as he is expected to dedicate himself full-time to WWE at the beginning of 2026.

The situation became more evident after his appearance on NXT Homecoming, where he was included in the show's opening video and featured in a segment with Bobby Roode, Charlie Dempsey, and Wren Sinclair backstage. Additionally, a video of Hendry wearing a WWE logo t-shirt while reminiscing about his favorite match in the company was shared on WWE's official social media.

Hendry has already had a presence in WWE in 2025, highlighting his participation in the men's Royal Rumble and a match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41. At the same time, he continued fulfilling dates with TNA, such as on last week's program, where he defeated Travis Williams. All of this reinforces the perception that his transition to WWE is imminent and a matter of time.
