During the broadcast of the premium event WrestlePalooza, WWE presented a revamped version of its opening video "Then. Now. Forever. Together". Narrated by Paul "Triple H" Levesque, the new intro brings together legends from the past and current stars, ending with the Las Vegas crowd at WrestleMania 41 doing the "Yeet" gesture popularized by Jey Uso. It is the introduction of this new era for WWE in partnership with ESPN.
This video is not entirely new: WWE had already premiered a version of "Then. Now. Forever. Together" for WrestleMania 40 on April 6, 2024, which served as the official opening of the event. That edition featured past and present superstars, marking a strong visual change, signaling that WWE wanted to refresh its image and highlight its legacy.
The new WrestlePalooza intro appears to be another update designed to reflect the transition in WWE's broadcasting, boldly entering the ESPN+ / Netflix era for its premium events. By incorporating iconic figures like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, CM Punk, Becky Lynch, The Rock, Trish Stratus, and others, WWE once again emphasizes its tradition, its present, and its aspiration to remain relevant "forever".
These kinds of historic intros serve two essential functions: recognizing the pillars of the past that have built the company, and emotionally connecting with fans by showing that history is alive. Every time WWE changes or updates its opening video, it is playing a part of that collective memory, and this new visual presentation could become as memorable as the previous ones.
