The episode of WWE NXT on September 23 left a surprising scene: Fatal Influence decided to abruptly remove Jazmyn Nyx after an attack backstage. What seemed like a betrayal on screen actually hid the definitive reason for her departure from the company.
According to PWInsider, Nyx's contract is about to expire and WWE has no plans to renew it. Therefore, WWE used the attack as justification for her departure from the group and the brand. Before the main event, cameras showed Nyx on the ground after an apparent attack, surrounded by NXT personnel. Fallon Henley pointed out that she had only been absent for a minute, but Jacy Jayne took the opportunity to send a clear message. "It's time to shed dead weight. Only the strong survive."
"Jazmyn Nyx (real name Jade Arianna Gentile, 27 years old) has left WWE, as confirmed by PWInsiderElite.com," wrote Miek Johnson. "As we have been informed, she is not injured and will not be promoted to the main roster, but will leave the company when her current contract expires."
With those words, Jayne confirmed the end of Nyx's time in Fatal Influence and, in turn, her farewell from WWE. After a couple of years in the developmental brand, her time in the company has come to an end.
Although the outcome was not the most favorable, Jazmyn Nyx's future remains open. The independent market and other international promotions could be natural destinations for a wrestler who still has much to prove away from the spotlight of NXT.
