Kelani Jordan, NXT superstar, pulled off one of the biggest surprises of TNA Victory Road by becoming the new Knockouts Champion. Jordan defeated Lei Ying Lee in an unexpected match for the vacant championship, after a series of twists that left the audience in awe.

The match featured Indi Hartwell as the special referee. At a crucial moment, Hartwell was knocked out while Lee had a visual pin on Jordan. When the official regained consciousness, Jordan reacted, hit a stunner, and finished with her signature moonsault to seal the victory.

Earlier in the evening, Ash by Elegance announced she was not fit to compete and was forced to vacate the championship after 34 days of reign. This led to a battle royal to determine the contenders, in which Jordan and Lee emerged as the final two and advanced directly to the title match.

Originally, Ash was set to defend the title against Masha Slamovich, with Hartwell as the guest referee. However, following allegations of domestic abuse against Slamovich, last-minute changes were made to the lineup that resulted in Kelani Jordan's unexpected rise to the new champion.

TNA itself confirmed after the match that Jordan will defend the title at Bound for Glory next month, specifically against Indi Hartwell, adding a special element to the rivalry.
