Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is once again at the center of political debate in the United States. The icon of WWE and Hollywood star was once again asked about the possibility of running for president of the country, a topic that has been following him for years and that he has denied on many occasions.

In an interview with Variety, Johnson acknowledged that he feels flattered by the interest, but avoided committing himself: "It's crazy, man. I'm always honored when people ask me. I love what I do. I love telling stories. But we'll see."

The conversation about a future in politics is not new. NBC even made it part of the script of the series Young Rock, which explored in a comedic tone the idea of Johnson as a presidential candidate. However, the actor himself has insisted that there is nothing concrete.

The popular interest, on the other hand, is undeniable. In 2021, a national survey revealed that 46% of Americans would support Johnson's candidacy for the presidency, a higher percentage than other celebrities like Tom Hanks or Oprah Winfrey. At the time, The Rock responded on Instagram with humor and humility, highlighting the surrealism of imagining himself as part of the country's political history.

Currently, The Rock is part of the leadership of TKO Group Holdings, but is not part of WWE's current storylines. There are no plans for him to return to wrestling next year, especially after experiencing a physical change demanded by Hollywood, but there is speculation that he could return to the ring in 2027 to be part of the WrestleMania 43 lineup.
