Bret "Hitman" Hart has once again taken shots at former teammates, in this case Ric Flair, recalling their world title feuds in the nineties. During an appearance in Germany, exclusively for fans, the Canadian wrestler claimed that The Nature Boy tried to sabotage his matches after becoming WWF champion.

Hart pointed out that while their European tours were successful, the quality of their matches plummeted upon returning to North America. "I think he was doing it on purpose. He was trying to sabotage my fights," he stated. Tensions escalated when Flair attempted to impose his own match plan. Hart shut it down immediately: "No, we're not doing that. I'm the champion, I call the shots. I say what we're going to do."

According to the Hitman, from that moment on, he never allowed another wrestler to dictate the script. "I was the producer, the director, and the editor. I put the match together from start to finish." He also criticized Flair for always wrestling the same way, repeating routines without innovating, something that Hart considers contrary to his own style: "Ric wrestles the same match against everyone. I saw myself as an artist, I wanted each match to be different."

The rivalry between Ric Flair and Bret Hart in WWF dates back to the early nineties, when The Nature Boy arrived at the company in top form. Hart, who was transitioning from his tag team wrestler phase, made a big leap by facing Flair for the world championship. Their most memorable clash was in October 1992 in Saskatoon, Canada, where Hart shocked the world by defeating Flair and becoming WWF champion for the first time. That match not only solidified Hitman as a top figure but also symbolized a generational shift in the company.

Years later, both would cross paths again in WCW. Although in the later stages of their careers, Flair and Hart faced each other several times during 1998 and 1999, amidst the turbulent creative landscape of the company. While their matches did not reach the same heights as those in WWF, they provided moments of interest for fans, such as the showdown at Souled Out 1998 and subsequent televised clashes. These reunions showcased the tension between two very different styles: the classicism of the Nature Boy versus the technical precision of the Hitman.
