Ridge Holland suffered an injury during the television tapings of TNA Wrestling that took place last weekend. The NXT talent was facing Moose in a one-on-one match when the British had an accident during a move, injuring his left foot. As a result, Holland was unable to continue the fight and the referee ordered the end of the match, declaring the TNA talent as the winner.
In videos shared by some fans on the Internet, Moose and the match referee can be seen helping Holland return backstage. This afternoon, the British wrestler took to his social media to confirm his injury and the necessary procedure to recover. "Lisfranc injury... Surgery on Friday. See you soon", wrote Holland.
The Lisfranc injury is an injury in the midfoot, specifically in the joints and ligaments that connect the bones of the forefoot with those of the midfoot, known as the tarsometatarsal joints. The estimated recovery time will depend on the severity of the injury, although it seems evident that the wrestler will miss the remainder of the year.
This is not Holland's first injury as a WWE superstar. In October 2020, he suffered a left ankle fracture with dislocation and a patellar tendon rupture that kept him out of action for nine months. At that time, the British wrestler was competing for NXT.
In recent months, Holland had returned to the WWE developmental territory to find himself and compete solo again after the abrupt end of "The Brawling Brutes". He was recently sent to WWE Evolve, where he started a rivalry with Tate Wilder, while also beginning another one with Mike Santana in TNA. In fact, they faced off in a one-on-one match at Victory Road the day before the British wrestler's injury.
