Tonight, Monday Night Raw presented a new edition. During the event, champion Dominik Mysterio defended one of his titles against the dangerous Bulgarian Rusev. Despite his opponent's dominance and strength, "the King of Fighters" managed to retain his title thanks to his typical tricks.
Mysterio started the match trying to surprise the challenger, but the dangerous Bulgarian demonstrated his strength by easily knocking him down and forcing the champion to flee to ringside. Back in the ring, physical dominance was all for Rusev, who punished Dominik with Fallaway Slams and suplexes. Then the Bulgarian mocked the champion and the audience while leaving Mysterio writhing in pain on the mat.
Dom managed to withstand the punishment, executing two consecutive 619s followed by a Frog Splash that almost gave him the victory. Rusev survived and immediately responded with a powerful Machka Kick, then Dominik fled to ringside again with his two titles, returning a few seconds later to unleash chaos and divert the referee's attention.
While the referee tried to remove the title from the ring, Dominik took advantage of the confusion to deliver a low blow to Rusev. After the illegal blow, the champion quickly covered his opponent with a roll-up for the three count and retained his Intercontinental Championship, securing his sixth successful defense.
