Tonight, WWE NXT held a chaotic edition with the presence of TNA talents in the arena. Throughout the show, more matches for NXT vs. TNA Showdown were confirmed, highlighting the return of TNA's Mustafa Ali to WWE to challenge Ethan Page for the North American Championship.
Ethan opened the segment with his usual arrogance, boasting about his recent victory over an Olympic athlete and being "the greatest living Canadian." While mocking his upcoming challenger, Dr. Wagner Jr.'s Son, a car arrived at the arena. To Page's surprise and the audience's excitement, the former WWE wrestler and current TNA star, Mustafa Ali, appeared.
Ali confronted the champion, making it clear that his issue was not with him, but with the North American Championship. Mustafa explained that NXT owed him a debt: 749 days ago, he was unjustly fired without being able to capitalize on his earned title opportunity. However, Page cared little; mocking the claim and refusing to grant him a match.
Furious, Ali revealed that he didn't need to beg, but to use his "political side" to have Ava and Santino Marella grant him the title match at Showdown. Although Page accepted the challenge, he promised Mustafa that, after his defeat, TNA would fire him again over the phone. This final insult unleashed Ali's fury, who mercilessly attacked Page, forcing the champion to flee the ring and ending the segment.
