Adam Copeland, known in WWE as Edge, and current AEW star, has added a new project to his career: Variety has confirmed that he will be part of the cast of The Beekeeper 2, the sequel to the action movie starring Jason Statham in 2024. So far, no details have been revealed about the character he will play.

Production is already underway and is being kept under tight wraps. Jason Statham will reprise his role as a former government assassin, with the cast including heavyweights like Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, and Pom Klementieff. The sequel, distributed worldwide by Amazon MGM Studios and produced and financed by Miramax, features Yara Shahidi as a new addition to the cast.

Copeland's filmography includes roles in "Vikings" and "Haven", and most recently he starred as Ares in the successful Disney+ series "Percy Jackson and the Olympians". This performance earned him a nomination at the Children's and Family Emmys.

The announcement comes shortly after Copeland experienced a very special moment at AEW All Out, held this month in Toronto. There, alongside Christian Cage, he defeated FTR in a tag team match. The show also featured the AEW debut of his wife, Beth Phoenix, who ended up being attacked by FTR with a spike piledriver.

Following that angle, Copeland was temporarily taken off the programming, explaining on television that his family is being affected by the events and he doesn't know when he will return to the ring.
