All Elite Wrestling has confirmed the first official match of AEW Full Gear 2025, which will take place on November 22 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The event will feature the return of Big Boom AJ, who will step back into the ring on a big stage to continue his journey within the company.

The announcement was made this afternoon exclusively through social media, in a face-off between AJ and Big Justice against Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero. Tension quickly rose when the latter refused to face AJ and Justice in a conventional tag team match. Finally, an agreement was reached: AJ will be able to choose his partner to face Beretta and Romero at the PPV.

This will be AJ's fourth match in AEW. His debut took place at Full Gear 2024 against QT Marshall, and since then he has competed in Revolution 2025 and All In Texas 2025. Before his signing, the most veteran fans remembered him from his time on the independent circuit between 1999 and 2005, as well as a special appearance in 2021.

A return with uncertainties

The confirmation of AJ's match adds the first major attraction to the Full Gear 2025 card. The case of Big Boom AJ reflects AEW's strategy of combining established talents with media personalities capable of attracting new audiences. His evolution in the company has sparked mixed opinions, but each of his appearances has generated anticipation.
