The star of Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, Místico, recently revealed to WrestleZone his interest in signing a "dual contract." This agreement would allow him to compete as a main figure in his home country while maintaining a fixed presence in American promotions such as AEW and MLW. His goal is to replicate the status of other colleagues, taking advantage of the growing alliances between CMLL and U.S. companies.
The current CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion was emphatic about his desire to expand his global horizons. "I am looking for an opportunity in any promotion in the world. It doesn't matter if it's in Mexico, London, Japan," declared Místico, adding that it is time to seek new challenges: "I think I have shown what I am made of, and now I think it's time to look for new things."
Místico's interest in the dual agreement is not only to compete, but to secure title opportunities on American soil. The Mexican seeks to follow in the footsteps of other colleagues, as wrestlers like Hechicero have already signed agreements with AEW while maintaining their exclusivity with CMLL. Therefore, Místico stated: "I would like to have that type of contract to pursue new rivalries and challenges with other superstars."
Místico's desires come at one of his best professional moments. At the 92nd Anniversary of CMLL last month, the Mexican idol regained the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship by defeating AEW star, MJF. Additionally, this Saturday he will have another opportunity to shine in the United States by facing Último Guerrero in the quarterfinals of the MLW Opera Cup tournament.
