TNA is in talks to finalize a significant $10 million television agreement that would allow for a weekly live show broadcast. However, according to Fightful Select, some voices within WWE fear that the new audience metrics introduced by Nielsen could work against the company during negotiations.
A WWE production source has expressed concern that recent changes in television measurement systems could be used to devalue TNA in front of interested networks. Nevertheless, TNA executive Carlos Silva clarified that this issue has not been brought up in current meetings and that they have a key call scheduled for this week to continue advancing in the discussions.
"A member of the WWE production team expressed concern that the new Nielsen numbers and data could be used to negotiate against TNA as they seek a new television contract. Carlos Silva assured that this issue has not been mentioned in the discussions and that they have an important call this week to keep the process moving forward," the report states.
Silva had previously confirmed that TNA is in talks with several networks and platforms and that recent discussions have helped speed up the process. Although the Nielsen modifications could impact the television industry as a whole, TNA is confident in closing a solid deal that will allow them to solidify their position in 2026.
If the contract is finalized, it would represent a decisive step in the media reconsolidation of TNA, which aims to regain ground after its return to the original name and its recent collaborations with WWE. With an increasingly competitive roster and a growing fan base, the company aspires to strengthen its international presence and reclaim its position as one of the most influential brands in professional wrestling.
