Roman Reigns and Bronson Reed began an intense rivalry weeks ago and even though they had a match at Clash in Paris, that fight did not manage to put an end to their dispute. Tension escalated when Reed brutally attacked Reigns, sending him to the hospital and leaving him out of action for several shows. Finally, Reigns returned last week on WWE Raw seeking revenge against The Vision member.
Reigns opened Raw show in Texas, making his entrance amidst a great ovation and asking the fans to recognize him as the "Tribal Chief". However, his anticipated return, after being sent to the hospital, was immediately interrupted by Paul Heyman and Bronson Reed. Heyman addressed Reigns with disdain, calling him the "Tribal Thief" and mocking the beating that had left him out of action.
Tension quickly escalated when Reed used Reigns' family history to provoke him, pointing out that neither his father nor his uncle were carried out on a stretcher in their careers. This enraged Reigns, who challenged Reed to fight immediately, but Heyman stopped him. Then, Heyman issued a formal challenge: an individual match at WWE Crown Jewel under the stipulation of an Australian Street Fight, which Reigns instantly accepted.
As Heyman and Reed were about to leave, Reigns taunted them by calling them "two bitches running away," sparking a brutal fight. Bronson Reed charged towards the ring, but Reigns managed to control him with two consecutive Superman Punches. Finally, multiple WWE officials had to intervene to stop Reigns' onslaught, who celebrated on the apron while Reed remained knocked out.
