WWE continues to negotiate new agreements with those superstars whose contracts are close to expiring. Some talents like Karrion Kross, Scarlett, or more recently Santos Escobar, have left the company without reaching a new agreement. Others, like Xavier Woods, have succeeded, but only after arduous negotiations that extended over time. This was explained by Fightful in its most recent report.
"Fightful Select has reported that Xavier Woods, a member of New Day, was recently in a negotiation process with WWE that resulted in the signing of a multi-year extension to remain with the company. His original contract was expiring in September 2025, but both parties managed to reach an agreement. The sources we spoke to said that the agreement was closed at the last minute and, in fact, was only finalized in September," the outlet wrote.
"We do not have information about Kofi Kingston's contract. In 2019, all New Day members signed new contracts with the same conditions. However, they all suffered injuries that could have added additional time to their contracts. Again, this last part is not confirmed," Fightful wrote.
"WWE has reached a stalemate in negotiations with several talents who have been willing to leave recently, including Jazmyn Nyx, Killer Kross, and Santos Escobar. However, Xavier Woods and Bronson Reed have been confirmed by Fightful as talents who will continue with the company," the report concluded.
Xavier Woods signed with WWE in 2011 as part of its developmental territory. After his time in NXT, Woods was promoted to the main roster, where he teamed up with Kofi Kingston and Big E in what would become one of the most decorated factions in the company's history: The New Day.
One of his greatest solo achievements was winning the 2021 King of the Ring tournament. Additionally, Woods has one of the most important gaming channels on YouTube, UpUpDownDown, which is close to reaching 2.5 million subscribers.
