Lacey Lane, formerly known in WWE as Kayden Carter, made her debut in All Elite Wrestling during the latest episode of Dynamite. The wrestler appeared to answer the open challenge issued by Mercedes Monet, the current TBS champion, who was looking to face one of Florida's most prominent local talents.
Lane delivered a solid performance in her first match within AEW, connecting with several quick attacks and showcasing her characteristic athletic style. However, Monet once again proved why she is one of the most dominant stars in the company, prevailing after executing her Mone Maker and achieving another successful defense.
With this victory, Mercedes Monet reached 500 days as TBS champion, a historic milestone within AEW's women's division. Since capturing the title at Double or Nothing 2024 against Willow Nightingale, Monet has defended the championship 22 times, solidifying one of the longest and most consistent reigns in the company.
Prior to her official debut in AEW, Lacey Lane had already reappeared in the wrestling scene through Ring of Honor (ROH), AEW's sister promotion. In recent weeks, she competed in several matches within ROH on HonorClub, where she faced off against Lena Kross and Mina Shirakawa. Although not part of the regular roster, her consistent presence on ROH programs served as a prelude to her joining AEW.
Lacey Lane, known to WWE fans as Kayden Carter, began her journey at the Performance Center in 2018 after standing out in the independent circuit and college basketball before fully committing to wrestling. Her television debut came in NXT, where she quickly showcased great chemistry with Kacy Catanzaro (Katana Chance), forming one of the most popular female duos in the brand. Together, they captured the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship in 2023.
Despite her success in tag teams, Carter never managed to establish herself as a singles competitor on the main roster. After briefly being promoted to Raw and SmackDown, her presence faded due to creative changes and lack of storyline continuity. Ultimately, she was released from her WWE contract in May 2025 as part of a wave of cuts, ending a six-year tenure with the company.
