Vince McMahon will have to appear before a court next Thursday October 16 in Stamford, Connecticut, for a hearing related to charges of reckless driving and following too closely, stemming from the car accident he was involved in last July 24 in Westport.
According to a report from TMZ, McMahon received a citation for misdemeanor offenses after the incident. His lawyer has been trying to have the accusations dismissed before the scheduled date. The case has attracted significant attention due to the public profile of the businessman and the seriousness of the circumstances described in police reports.
Barbara Doran, the woman whose vehicle was hit by McMahon's Bentley, shared her experience in a Facebook post. She stated that the former WWE president was driving at an estimated speed of 80 to 90 miles per hour on a narrow highway when he crashed into the back of her car. Doran claimed she "was lucky to survive" and that the impact sent her more than 100 meters off the road.
According to the testimony of a state trooper who witnessed the events, McMahon was already being pursued by the police due to his reckless driving. The officer had activated his vehicle's lights to pull him over just before the accident. The impact shattered the front wheels of the Bentley and deployed the airbags, likely preventing more serious injuries for McMahon. Doran, on the other hand, suffered minor bruises and a strong scare, although she was taken to the hospital for a full check-up.
The case will be addressed in the hearing on October 16, where it will be determined whether the charges against Vince McMahon will proceed or be dropped. So far, neither McMahon nor his legal team have issued public statements regarding the legal process.
