Entrance music has always been an essential part of the connection between WWE superstars and the audience. However, in recent months, both fans and the wrestlers themselves have shown discontent with the new themes introduced by the company. According to the WrestleVotes media outlet, several talents have officially requested to change their current songs, and some have even reverted back to using their classic themes during the latest episode of SmackDown.

Among the names mentioned are Sheamus and Drew McIntyre, who reportedly asked to reclaim the music that accompanied them for a significant part of their careers. However, it is unknown how many of these requests will be approved. McIntyre, in particular, is not very optimistic about the possibility of WWE authorizing his change, although his followers continue to request it on social media.

The most notable return of the night was that of Shinsuke Nakamura, who made his comeback to SmackDown with his iconic theme “The Rising Sun”. The audience responded with a great ovation, recalling the strong connection the Japanese wrestler achieved in his 2017 debut thanks to that iconic melody.

With the strong reaction from the audience and more wrestlers expressing their desire to reclaim their original themes, WWE may reconsider its musical strategy. In a business where presentation and identity are everything, sometimes looking back is not a step back, but a way to remember what truly works.
