In the last few hours, several talents from the WWE development territory have announced their departure from the company. Yesterday, Zayda Steel and Kylie Rae confirmed that their future no longer lies with the company. Today, it was Lance Anoa'i who announced that he will not continue in WWE.

"I officially announce my departure from WWE! I haven't had the best of luck since I arrived, but I'm not going to let that stop me from achieving greatness! I have worked hard on the independent circuit for 15 years. Now it's time to get back to work! 30 days," Anoa'i wrote on his X account.

Lance Anoa'i was signed by WWE in the summer of 2024 and sent to their development territory. However, plans for the wrestler were postponed due to an injury. Recently, Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful indicated that Anoa'i had re-injured himself, which further delayed any plans the company had in place.

Lance Anoa'i made his professional wrestling debut in 2010 at just 18 years old. Lance has worked in the independent scene, with a notable stint in MLW. Additionally, the wrestler has occasionally appeared on WWE television programming, including a match against Shane McMahon on the May 27, 2019 episode of Monday Night Raw.

In 2023, Lance expressed his desire to leave MLW, specifically requesting his release. The promotion granted it, making the wrestler officially a free agent. It's worth noting that Lance never hid his interest in signing with WWE, something that would eventually happen just a few months later. Unfortunately, his journey in the company has ended before it could even begin.

Lance is the nephew of Afa Anoa'i, which means he shares blood ties with Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and The Usos, four of the most prominent Samoan wrestlers in the company. Many fans assumed that Lance would eventually be part of a storyline related to his relatives. However, that never came to pass and will no longer happen.
