In the last few hours, several talents from WWE have announced their departure from the company. In addition to the already known departures of Zayda Steel, Kylie Rae, and Lance Anoa'i, four more talents have now been informed of their release or non-renewal of their contracts.
Noteworthy is the departure of Stevie Turner, who had become a recurring talent on NXT and WWE Evolve television programming. Both the British wrestler and her former colleagues Jamar Hampton, Drako Knox, and Zara Zakher have taken to social media to announce that their time in WWE - for some in wrestling in general - has come to an end.
Turner signed with WWE in 2021 as part of the NXT UK brand. When the brand was closed, Turner was one of the talents who remained with the company, later being sent to NXT USA. However, she was barely used in the company's television programming. Everything changed with the appointment of Ava as General Manager of NXT, at which point Turner became an advisor. She would later be named "Prime Minister" of Evolve, a position similar to that of General Manager, which she had held until today.
"My time in WWE has come to an end. I have had wonderful moments and I am very excited about the future. See you soon!" Turner wrote on her X account.
Zakher burst onto the professional wrestling scene in 2023, quickly starting a career in the independent circuit, which led her to compete for numerous promotions such as GCW, DEFY, TJPW, and NJPW. In November 2024, she signed a contract with WWE to be part of the WWE ID project, allowing her to continue competing both in the independent scene and on the WWE Evolve program.
"As of today, my contract with WWE ID has expired and I am going to take a step back from wrestling. I am very grateful for all the people I have met and for all those who have supported me. I don't know if I will return or when I will, but I am hopeful for the future," Zakher wrote on her X account.
Hampton signed with WWE in 2024 as part of the WWE ID project, this being his only foray into professional wrestling. Hampton had an active role in WWE Evolve, where he was paired with It's Gal until an unfortunate hip injury forced him to step away from the action. According to his statement, this has marked the end of his wrestling career.
"Today I have been officially released from WWE. I never dreamed of being a professional wrestler as a child, but I am grateful to have had the opportunity to try. I have always been a discreet and reserved person, but wrestling forced me to grow and put myself in the spotlight. Thank you to all who encouraged me to keep going! Your faith in me sustained me when I didn't believe in myself. This is the end of my wrestling career, now I leave it to the professionals! I wish everyone much success at the Performance Center. With affection. (P.S.: My hip is already healed and I no longer need crutches)," Hampton wrote on his social media.
Drako Knox signed a developmental contract with WWE in 2023. Knox has appeared on programs like WWE LFG and WWE Evolve, as well as being a recurring talent in NXT's non-televised live shows. However, he never competed for the brand, although he could be seen on several occasions as a security member in some segments.
"With immediate effect, I have been released from my contract with WWE. I am grateful for every person and every day I spent at the Performance Center. I give everything I have every day for this business! I will be available for bookings within 30 days," Knox wrote.
