Indi Hartwell remembers the most awkward moment of her storyline with Dexter Lumis

Indi Hartwell has recalled one of the most surreal moments of her time on NXT: the famous pillow fight scene with Dexter Lumis, aired in 2021 as part of their romantic storyline within the show. In an interview with Metro UK, the current WWE superstar revealed a curious behind-the-scenes secret that left her completely puzzled when she saw the final result.

According to Hartwell, the scene was originally planned to be filmed in a hotel, but it ended up being shot in the actual bedroom of Jeremy Borash, WWE's Vice President of Content and Development. However, the most surprising part came after filming, during the editing, when they added a voiceover simulating moans.

Shooting it was already weird, but seeing it on television was even weirder. They edited in some moans... that weren't mine. I don't know where they got that voice from, but they added it. And I was thinking: 'Oh my God, my parents are going to see this'. But well, all in a day's work!

Hartwell assures she took it with humor, although she admits the situation was somewhat uncomfortable: "I laughed when I saw it, because it was so ridiculous that you couldn't take it seriously. In the end, it's entertainment, and it was part of a story that people remember fondly."

Despite the strangeness of the moment, Hartwell considers that period as one of the most fun and creative of her career in NXT. Her relationship with Lumis, which culminated in a live "wedding" and numerous humor-filled segments, remains one of the most remembered storylines of the yellow brand. "It was all in good fun, and I did it for the job," concluded the Australian.

Indi Hartwell will be one of the main stars of Bound For Glory, TNA's PPV event taking place tonight in Lowell. Hartwell will face Kelani Jordan for the Knockouts Championship! It will be the perfect opportunity for the wrestler to redeem herself after her departure from WWE. Beating an opponent from NXT could be personally satisfying for her, as well as crowning herself as the new champion.
