Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is not only one of the biggest stars in wrestling history, but also one of the most influential men in WWE today thanks to his role as a member of the board of directors of TKO Group. However, Johnson himself made it clear that he does not intend to use that power to influence everything, especially when it comes to the farewell of a legend like John Cena.
During his appearance on the New Heights podcast, hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce, The Rock talked about his movie The Smashing Machine and, later on, about the current moment in WWE, highlighting Cena's retirement tour.
When asked about who should be the last opponent for the 17-time champion, The Rock humbly replied: "That's a good question. I have some influence on creative decisions, but in the end, it should be whoever John chooses. It shouldn't be me, or Nick Khan, or Triple H deciding. It's his moment, and he's earned it."
The former world champion also dedicated words full of respect to his former rival: "You know what's best about John? He's exactly as he seems. He's a good guy, honest, hardworking. I adore him."
The Rock's statements come after WWE fans debated about John Cena's farewell tour and his failed heel run. Many believe that The Rock was one of the people who made that decision, and the result has been a somewhat strange year for Cena, despite his recent performances, highlighting Crown Jewel, where he had the audience on their feet several times.
