Live Report of WWE NXT October 14, 2025

WWE NXT starts on Netflix!

The show begins with a video recap of NXT Showdown.

We see the arrival of some of tonight's protagonists at the venue: Lola Vice, Jaida Parker, Zaria, and Sol Ruca.

Ricky Saints is the one to open tonight's show. The NXT Champion heads to the ring, where he takes a microphone. Ricky thanks the fans for the reception, stating that he will never tire of it. Saints points out that last week, at NXT Showdown, two things became very clear. "One: when you put everything against me, when you back me into a corner, I fight tooth and nail. Not just for me, but for everyone here. And the other is that when things get really tough, Trick Williams crumbles under pressure," says Ricky. And that is the difference between them.

Ricky indicates that the night he won the NXT title, everything became clear to him. "For you, Trick Williams, it hasn't been clear at all. For a guy who says he built this place. For a guy who says he's the face of NXT. Man, you left and abandoned this place, and you want to believe you're above everyone. You're delusional. You're crazy. You're stupid," says "The Absolute." Still, Saints would like to give him a chance. The chance to prove him wrong. Ricky reminds that many before him have held the NXT Championship, and all patiently awaited their next challenger. However, this is a new era, the Absolute era. And in this era, he will do things his way. "So, prove me wrong, Tricky. I'm challenging you at Halloween Havoc for the NXT Championship," says Saints.

Trick Williams interrupts him from the venue screen. Trick understands that Ricky is angry after what happened at NXT Showdown. After he couldn't get the job done. Williams points out that Saints is following in his footsteps. However, there is a big difference between them. While Saints has worked his whole life to be the Man in NXT, Williams hasn't had to wait in line because he's a VIP who has always had the spotlight on his head. And that's something Ricky can't stand, because the champion sees that Williams does everything better than him. "You're so angry that you want to put the NXT Championship on the line. Do you want Trick Williams to be a three-time NXT Champion? We'll do this when I say. Let's talk about it. See you soon, champion," says Trick to end his intervention.

Ricky points out that Williams' time is up. However, he's not surprised that Trick didn't have the courage to respond to him face to face like a man. But he doesn't care, because he will burst the fantasy bubble in which Trick lives. "I'm going to show you exactly who Ricky Saints is. I'm Absolute. So go ahead, let's talk about it," says Saints. "The Absolute" drops the mic on the canvas to end his intervention and the first segment of the night.

We move backstage, where Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater lament the end of their X-Division Championship match at TNA Bound For Glory, which ended in a no contest due to an intervention by DarkState. Slater reminds Evans that he almost beat him, but the NXT talent doesn't see it that way. In fact, he believes that if it weren't for DarkState's intervention, he would be the champion now. Leon and Je'Von agree that the faction members are crazy and that no one could have predicted what they would do that night. However, they understand it, as they were furious after losing the Tag Team Championships to The Hardy Boyz. The veterans show Evans and Slater that they shouldn't take it personally, as DarkState attacked them because they know they are a potential threat to them. The young talents thank them, adding that they can count on their help when needed. The four men fist bump. The Hardy Boyz leave the place. Je'Von and Leon enjoy like kids after having this conversation with two legends like Jeff and Matt.

NXT Anonymous shares a backstage recorded video. We see Kelani Jordan warming up when Jordynne Grace approaches her. "The Juggernaut" wants to know if everything is okay between them. Kelani accuses Grace of not being impartial when she refereed at NXT Showdown. Jordan believes that Jordynne is not happy to see her with the Knockouts World Championship!, especially considering that she has also failed to achieve her goal of becoming the NXT Champion. Kelani considers that Grace made the TNA championship prestigious by being a big fish in a small pond. However, now she is swimming among sharks. On top of that, Jordan won the TNA championship on her first foray into the Anthem Media company, while Grace has been chasing gold in NXT for a long time. "Kelani, the only reason you are champion right now is because I made it possible for you. I'll see you tonight in the battle royal," says Grace before leaving.

Matt Cardona vs. Josh Briggs

Matt charges against Briggs to strike first. Cardona unleashes a flurry of kicks on Josh in one of the corners. The referee is forced to intervene, a moment that Briggs takes advantage of to regain control. Matt surprises Briggs in one of the corners. Cardona launches a diving dropkick. Josh falls to ringside, where he receives the impact of a rope dropkick. Matt brings Josh back into the ring.

Matt corners Briggs in one of the corners to unleash a flurry of punches, but his rival quickly makes him fall. Josh kicks Cardona. Meanwhile, the fans invite Briggs to leave. "Matt, stay. Briggs, get out," they chant. Josh points to all of them before knocking down his opponent with a flying clothesline. 1..2..NO. Briggs points to them again before continuing his punishment on Matt.

Josh unleashes a flurry of attacks on Matt in one of the corners. Briggs imitates Cardona, whom he intends to hit with a Broski Boot. However, his rival stops the offensive by pushing Josh over his head to land on ringside. Next, the TNA talent jumps on his rival with a tope con hilo. "Woo, woo," chant the fans.

We return from commercial to see Josh catching Cardona in a headlock. Matt escapes, only to receive two consecutive big boots. 1..2..NO. Cardona blocks a chokeslam to turn it into a DDT. "Cardona, Cardona," chants the audience. Matt starts a counterattack. Cardona executes a facebuster on Josh before unleashing a flurry of punches in one of the corners.

Matt executes a Broski Boot, followed by an Unprettier. 1..2..NO. Josh dodges a second Broski Boot to escape to ringside. Matt kicks him before bringing his rival back into the ring. However, Briggs surprises him on the apron to introduce him into the ring with a painful backbreaker. Josh finishes him off with a chokeslam. 1...2...NO. Briggs can't believe it.

Josh removes the chain from his neck, ready to use it as a weapon. The referee notices and tries to take it away, but Briggs pushes him aside. Matt doesn't miss the opportunity and surprises his opponent with a Rough Ryder/Radio Silence. 1..2...NO. "Ref, you suck!" chant the fans.

Matt jumps from the second rope, but Josh catches him with a powerbomb. Cardona stops his rival's offensive and tries to apply a second Unprettier, but Briggs doesn't allow it. The action moves to the top of one of the corners. Briggs blocks a tornado DDT to respond with a big boot. 1..2..3.

Winner: Josh Briggs

Lyra Valkyria talks with Chase U (Andre Chase, Kale Dixon, and Uriah Connors), Hank Walker, and Tank Ledger backstage. Both teams agree that the NXT Tag Team Championships will need new challengers after Halloween Havoc, with both teams vying for those spots. Valkyria understands them, but she had only asked about Tatum Paxley. She doesn't take long to appear on the scene. Paxley is very happy to see the Irishwoman. Izzi Dame quickly separates them, pointing out that they don't need to hug. As for the tag team championships, Dame ensures that the only ones deserving that opportunity are her partners from The Culling, as Hank and Tank failed in their rematch and Chase U... well, Chase U doesn't have what it takes to be champions. Only Niko Vance and Shawn Spears have the talent and experience necessary to be first in line. Hank and Tank believe this situation is perfect for a triple threat. Andre Chase agrees with them, proposing that they go to Ava's office now to present the idea and have the match scheduled. Both teams leave the place. Izzi continues to prevent Tatum from approaching Lyra. Dame points out that once she wins the battle royal tonight, she will become the new NXT Women's Champion. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. And what about Tatum?," asks Valkyria. "What about Tatum? She'll be with me every step of the way, Lyra," Izzi responds before taking Paxley's hand and leading her away. "Good luck, Tatum," says the Irishwoman. "She doesn't need it," Izzi replies in the distance. Niko and Shawn follow their teammate, leaving Lyra alone.

Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley star in a promotional video about Fatal Influence. Both remember the beginnings of the faction, whose goal was to influence one of the most prominent women's divisions in professional wrestling. And they succeeded, astonishing the entire roster with title victories, headlining PPVs, and creating memorable moments. Of course, they have had their problems, but they have never let that get in their way. However, there was someone who didn't measure up, and that was Jazmyn Nyx, who was eliminated by someone who showed loyalty to the faction in a way Nyx could never have done. We see Lainey Reid with Jayne and Henley, whom she describes as two titans of this division. She has seen them rise and wanted to be part of the team. At first, she thought she had to beat them to earn her place. But when she fell to Jacy, she realized she had to find another path. "And you took it a little further," says Fallon. "Win at all costs," indicates Lainey. "That's our style. Lainey Reid, welcome to Fatal Influence. You've earned your place," says Jacy. Fallon suggests to her teammates to watch the battle royal to know the next challenger for Jayne. "Whoever it is, they won't stand a chance," says Reid. The three women pose to end the video.

El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Lexis King

Lexis and El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. start exchanging holds, locks, and counters. King kicks the masked wrestler's face before continuing the fight. Lexis tricks her opponent, who ends up lying face down on the canvas. King walks on his back to taunt him. El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. knocks down his opponent with a shoulder tackle before mocking her back. "Wrestling!", chant the fans.

El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. takes his opponent to one of the corners to execute a painful chop. The Mexican wrestler repeats the move in the opposite corner. King tries to remove her opponent's mask, distracting him long enough to escape his clutches. Lexis slaps her rival. El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. responds with a pair of scissors before executing a spinning backbreaker. Lexis ends up at ringside, where she receives the impact of a moonsault. "Long live wrestling!" exclaims the Mexican as we reach a new commercial break.

Back, we see El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. attacking Lexis in one of the corners. King expels her opponent from the ring. Lexis goes after him to push him against the metal stairs. The masked wrestler hurts his left knee. Lexis continues to punish the AAA Latin American Champion as she brings him back into the ring.

King executes a direct clothesline to the back of El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.'s head. 1..2..NO. The Mexican continues to hurt his knee. Lexis applies a Dragon Screw on the same knee before trapping it in a painful submission hold. El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. struggles to free himself. King kicks his face, but only manages to anger him. The Mexican starts a counterattack, which ends with a double underhook powerbomb. 1..2..NO.

The action continues. King surprises El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. with a superkick. After that, she focuses her punishment on her opponent's injured knee. Lexis seeks height in one of the corners to jump with a Swanton Bomb. El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. dodges it to respond with a Shining Wizard, followed by a Wagner Driver. 1..2..3.

Winner: El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.

El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. takes a microphone. "Ethan, don't run anymore. Come here right now!" Ethan Page quickly responds to the Mexican's call. "All Ego" claims it's very exhausting to be the greatest North American Champion of all time. Page recalls that talents from all brands, including AAA and TNA, come to NXT in search of his championship. However, El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. won't have to keep chasing him because he spoke with Ava, and she has scheduled a match at Halloween Havoc, where he will put the gold on the line against the Mexican. "This won't be easy, and I'll tell you why. Because I invite you to have a Day of the Dead Match," responds El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. in Spanish. "Oooh. Okay, papi. I have no idea what you said, and it really doesn't matter, because on October 25, I'll beat you at Halloween Havoc, buddy," Ethan replies. "Shut up, shut up, boy. Let me explain it to you. I talked to Ava, and we won't have a normal match. I want to face you in a Day of the Dead Match," the masked wrestler explains in English. Ethan still doesn't understand the stipulation. "Ethan, anything goes," responds El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. to end his explanation. The Mexican challenges "All Ego" to enter the ring. However, Ethan prefers to taunt him from the entrance ramp. And so we reach the end of this segment.

Sol Ruca and Zaria promote Maybelline products backstage when the Australian realizes that her partner is dressed to compete. Sol informs her that tonight she will be part of the battle royal that will determine the next challenger for the NXT Women's Championship. "Are you serious? How many titles do you need?" Zaria asks. She thought Sol would be in her corner tonight, but it seems she has other matters to attend to. "I'll take care of Blake on my own tonight," says Zaria before leaving. "Zaria, no..." Ruca responds as she regrets what happened. Both head to the ring for the battle royal.

Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater are talking with Ava and Santino Marella backstage. Evans and Slater wonder if there's anything planned for them at Halloween Havoc. Ava isn't sure, as there's going to be a triple threat match tonight and... Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Arianna Grace burst onto the scene. Channing thinks Leon is getting too comfortable in NXT. Also, if it weren't for DarkState, he wouldn't still have the X-Division Championship in his possession. As for Evans, he reminds him that he already beat him. Arianna whispers something into her father's ear. He asks Ava if "Stacks," his potential son-in-law, could get a title opportunity. "A match for the X-Division Championship on my show?" Ava asks. Slater is fine with it, so the NXT General Manager makes the match official. Je'Von assures them he’ll be keeping an eye on that match. Suddenly, a loud noise surprises them. "I told you, I told you, I told you!" someone yells. It's Trick Williams, who just attacked Ricky Saints. "Yeah, we'll do it when I say! See you at Halloween Havoc!" shouts Williams. Ava orders Trick to leave. The General Manager tends to Saints while waiting for medical personnel to arrive.

Blake Monroe vs. Zaria

Blake is looking for Sol Ruca, mocking Zaria in the process. Zaria takes her down, daring her to come at her again. Monroe tries to grab her, but the Aussie quickly knocks her down once more. Blake escapes a chokeslam and counters with a chop block directly to her opponent’s left leg. Monroe follows up with a dropkick. She continues to target Zaria’s injured leg in one of the corners.

Zaria goes up top. Monroe tries to bring her down with an Avalanche Headstand Hurricanrana, but the Aussie blocks it. Zaria locks in a sleeperhold from the second rope. Blake rolls out to ringside for safety, but her opponent quickly follows. Zaria prepares for a suplex from the corner, but Blake stops her by slamming her into the turnbuckle. Zaria crashes to ringside. Meanwhile, Blake poses for the camera. We go to a commercial break.

Back from the break, Blake has Zaria in a sleeperhold. Zaria drops to her knees. Refusing to give up, Zaria throws herself into the corner to break free. Blake dodges a corner charge and traps her opponent in another sleeperhold. Zaria drops to the mat to break the hold. The two exchange blows.

Furious, Zaria unleashes an offensive flurry on the Brit, taking her down with a spear. Zaria goes for the finish, but Blake clings to the ropes. Both wrestlers struggle with the ropes between them. Monroe hits Zaria with a headbutt to break free. Zaria falls to the mat, stunned. Meanwhile, Blake looks for something under the ring apron.

Monroe pulls out a steel chair and returns to the ring. The Brit is ready to use it on Zaria, but Ruca runs in and snatches it away. The referee approaches Sol, telling her to get off the apron. They argue. Monroe takes advantage of the situation and pulls out a second weapon: a hair clip. Zaria grabs her opponent, ready to hit an F-6, but the Brit uses the clip directly against her opponent’s neck, forcing her to let go. Monroe finishes Zaria with a Beauty Shot. 1..2..3.

Winner: Blake Monroe

Sol helps a hurting Zaria while Blake puts the clip in her hair. Monroe mocks them both as she heads backstage.

Ava announces that next week, the tournament to determine the next challenger for the WWE Speed Championship — currently held by El Grande Americano — will begin. Jasper Troy (from NXT), Zachary Wentz (from TNA), Axiom (from SmackDown), and Sean Legacy (from Evolve) will be the participants.

Triple Threat Tag Match
Chase U (Uriah Connors and Kale Dixon) (with Andre Chase) vs. Hank Walker and Tank Ledger vs. The Culling (Niko Vance and Shawn Spears)

Uriah, Tank, and Niko start things off. Vance kicks Ledger, leading to a fast-paced series of roll-ups. Niko hits Tank with a headbutt and lands a huge right hand on Connors’ face. Vance strikes Hank in his corner, but when he turns back toward his opponents, they hit him with a stereo superkick.

Spears tags in. Shawn surprises Ledger with a codebreaker. Spears knocks Dixon off his corner. Meanwhile, Walker tags in. Shawn hits him with a superkick, only to get hit back with a Black Hole Slam. Hank and Tank team up effectively to take control. Both head to ringside to crush Niko and Spears. Dixon and Uriah dive in parallel suicide dives onto Walker and Ledger.

Shawn and Niko catch Kale and Uriah by surprise mid-celebration. Spears drags Walker back into the ring, where Vance hits him with a double underhook slam. 1..2..NO. Dixon breaks the pin. Vance targets Kale in the corner. Kale avoids a superplex from Niko just before chaos erupts in the ring.

Hank and Tank toss Niko out of the ring. Then, they hit a double slam on Spears. Immediately, Dixon and Connors fly in with a double Frog Splash onto Walker and Ledger. All five men are down. Suddenly, OTM storm the ring. Bronco Nima and Lucien Price throw Vance into the steel steps before entering the ring and attacking the rest of the participants.

Match ends in no contest

Nima and Price walk up to the camera to deliver a message. "You can't outshine the struggle, and you can't outrun the Mud!" shouts Bronco. "OTM, baby! We're back!" adds Lucien.

Sol Ruca waits for Zaria outside the medical room. The Aussie steps out to meet her tag partner, who asks how she's feeling. Zaria has injured her trachea, but she'll be fine. Sol regrets not being there for her from the start of the match. Ruca blames herself, especially knowing that Zaria has always had her back. "I'll always be there for you," says the Australian. Sol assures her partner that they will defeat Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. For now, Sol holds two titles, and it's time for Zaria to get her chance. "That's why I'm giving you my spot in the battle royal," says Sol. "Are you serious?" asks a shocked Zaria. Ruca admits that Blake Monroe was right — maybe she was being a bit greedy. "Look. I want ZaRuca to have all the gold. It's your turn," says Sol. Zaria hugs her partner, but quickly pulls away due to her sore throat. Together, they head toward the ring for the battle royal.

A furious Ricky Saints searches for Trick Williams backstage. Ava catches up to the NXT Champion to inform him that his opponent has already left the arena. Ricky reminds Ava that he granted Williams a title shot at Halloween Havoc, and this is how he repays him — with a sneak attack. Now he wants to confront him face-to-face. Ava tells him he'll only have to wait one week, as both men will sign the contract for their match in the next episode of NXT. Ava asks him to stay calm until the contract is signed. "You know what, Ava? I'll do it for you," says Saints. "Thank you," replies the General Manager. Ricky walks off, ending this brief segment.

We see that DarkState have attacked The Hardy Boyz backstage. The heels promise that no one will be safe and that they won't stop until they regain the NXT Tag Team Championships. The faction walks off. Meanwhile, several officials call for help for Matt and Jeff.
