WWE held a new edition of NXT tonight, which featured the participation of some TNA superstars. During the evening, a Battle Royal took place to determine the challenger for Jacy Jayne's Women's Championship, and several matches were confirmed for their upcoming special event, Halloween Havoc, including a match for the North American Championship.
In his NXT debut, El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. achieved an important victory after facing Lexis King. The AAA wrestler showcased his talent from the first minute, but King responded by focusing his punishment on the masked wrestler's knee. Despite the pain, the Mexican managed to withstand the Dragon Screw and the submission hold. The match ended when Wagner Jr. dodged a Swanton Bomb to hit a Shining Wizard and his ultimate Wagner Driver, securing the win.
Immediately after the victory, El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. challenged NXT North American Champion Ethan Page. "All Ego" arrogantly answered the call, reminding that his championship is coveted by wrestlers from all brands, but despite this, Page accepted the challenge, confirming that the management approved a match for the gold at the upcoming special event, Halloween Havoc.
The Mexican surprised the audience and his rival by requesting that the match be held under the stipulation of a Day of the Dead Match. Although Page accepted without fully understanding the nature of the match, Wagner Jr. explained that, thanks to Ava, they will compete in a special match where "anything goes."
