WWE announces the return of the Speed Championship Tournament

Tonight, WWE held a new edition of NXT that featured great matches and advanced rivalries heading towards Halloween Havoc. Additionally, it was confirmed that the Speed Championship will once again be determined through a small tournament with representatives from various brands.

The current Great American Champion was introduced in the tournament as a representative of Lucha Libre AAA and not WWE, furthermore, Axiom from SmackDown will face Sean Legacy from EVOLVE, while in the other bracket Jasper Troy from NXT will face off against Zachary Wentz from TNA Wrestling.

The Great American, a wrestler who has quickly won the affection of the audience, won the title on May 5 by defeating Mexican wrestler Dragón Lee. A month later, he defended it against Berto, representing Legado del Fantasma. So, his next defense will be the third in his current reign.

After June, both the Speed Championship and the Women's Speed Championship, currently held by Sol Ruca, were left in limbo. But weeks later, the situation changed when Ava, the General Manager of NXT, announced that both titles would become part of the brand and would be active again immediately.
