In recent years, Alexa Bliss’s presence in WWE has been closely tied to her friend and former mentor, Bray Wyatt. Their on-screen relationship dates back to 2020, when Bliss gradually fell under the spell of The Fiend Bray Wyatt, eventually becoming a devilish minion. This character turn showed how the charismatic Bliss transformed into a messenger serving the darkest entity in the company. Although many fans were dissatisfied with how the story between them developed, Bliss remembers it as one of her best moments in WWE.
Recently, the wrestler appeared on In The Kliq to talk about those first weeks with the Eater of Worlds. The Goddess recalled how, during those 2020 days, she was genuinely nervous about entering Wyatt’s enigmatic universe. She even admitted that she was truly afraid of ruining everything Bray had built over the previous year. “It was so much fun. I always say it was the most fun I’ve ever had in my career because it was such an entertaining challenge. When I joined Bray, I remember thinking, ‘I don’t want to be the one to mess this up,’ because he had something really special with the Firefly Funhouse, the Wyatt Family, and all of that. So, for me, I was stepping into his world, and I wasn’t going to be the one to bring it down”, she shared.
Despite this, Bliss has never hidden that, while it may not have been her most commercially successful run in WWE, it was the period where she grew the most as a character. She explained how her on-screen partner encouraged her to research more on her own and immerse herself in knowledge she could apply during the Firefly Funhouse segments.
In the interview, she explained how her working relationship with Wyatt helped her truly learn a lot about herself: “You have to know your character inside and out. You have to know where they grew up. You have to know the world they live in. You have to know what is reality to them and not just what we see in front of us. That really opened my eyes in terms of character development.”
Bliss also took the opportunity to honor the memory of her friend, keeping him very present on television despite it having been over two years since his passing. “He was a creative genius. He saw the WWE world in a way that no one else ever had. And he created an entire alternate universe within the WWE universe. And that was something I found fascinating,” she said.
Finally, she praised WWE for the way they handled the Wyatt Sicks, the group originally meant to be led by Bray Wyatt. Bliss expressed her happiness that the company ensured Wyatt’s memory and essence were preserved at all costs.
