Donald Trump's immigration policy does not leave anyone indifferent. In this case, the three-time WWE World Champion has launched a very harsh criticism against the president's management.
In a video on his YouTube channel, Foley, who addressed the human aspect and not the political side of the president, spoke about the "terror" he is causing in a large part of the American population. The intensity and vehemence of his words were such that he even went as far as to describe the situation as "terrorism."
"You deserve the Nobel Peace Prize. It's yours if you can stop the madness in this country, because you won't be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize if you are perceived as someone who incites tension, terror, and if you are seen tying children and the elderly with zip ties, kidnapping daily workers who are just looking to do an honest day's work. I don't want to use the word terror, but if people are terrified in wide areas of the United States, in my opinion, that is terrorism," he denounced.
To these strong statements, he added an experience from a family close to his own. Foley recounted how the two in-laws of a friend of his, whose identity he did not want to reveal, were deported in a matter of five days. Additionally, he added that they threatened his friend not to publish that information on his social networks, or else they would go after his wife. Despite being a family with no civil problems and socially active, their lives have been shattered by the excessive Trumpist policies.
Towards the end of the video, Foley addressed Trump directly once again, this time leaving him the following message: "It seems to me that you are trying to consolidate power, perhaps turn our country into something akin to an autocracy. And if that happens, you may rewrite history and be the hero. But if that doesn't happen... history will not treat you well."
"You and only you have the ability to calm the tension, stop the madness, curb the terror. You, Mr. President, and only you have the ability to bring peace to the United States... This is just me looking at the camera, speaking from my heart to you — as a human being, as a member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2013. You and only you, Mr. President, have the power to stop the madness," he concluded;
The reality is that in a wrestling industry heavily influenced by Trumpist politics (Trump himself was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame), Foley is one of the few great wrestlers who have clearly positioned themselves against this Republican administration. Despite his message, it seems unlikely that, with the indifference and inaction of world countries, the situation of American immigration could change in the short term.
