WWE continues to reshape the roster of its developmental territory as the one-year anniversary of WWE ID approaches. In the past week, over a dozen talents, from this project as well as NXT and Evolve, were informed that their contracts would not be renewed, such as Lance Anoa'i or Ridge Holland. Others, like Zayda Steel, chose not to continue with the company and seek another path in this business.
This afternoon, a new name has been added to this list. It is Bryce Donovan, who has confirmed that he is no longer part of the WWE ID project or the Evolve brand. The wrestler bid farewell to the fans in a brief message on his social media, thanking everyone who has supported him in this past year.
"It's over. I will no longer be with WWE ID or Evolve. Thank you all for the good times. I learned a lot, especially from Sean Waltman, who is the best coach anyone could ask for. I will let you know what will happen next when I decide, or maybe not, I don't know yet," he wrote on his social media.
Hailing from Long Beach, Donovan burst onto the professional wrestling scene in 2016 under the guidance of Create-A-Pro Wrestling. Since then, he has worked for numerous promotions in the independent scene, including Beyond Wrestling, GCW, Combat Zone Wrestling, and even competed for All Elite Wrestling on the now-defunct AEW: Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation.
Donovan was one of the first talents to officially join the WWE ID project, also becoming one of the most featured wrestlers on WWE Evolve's television programming. There, he was part of The Vanity Project alongside Swipe Right (Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes), Zayda Steel, and Jackson Drake. His last televised match took place on the Succession special, where he was defeated by Drake in a match for the WWE Evolve Championship.
