The current news remains focused on the peculiar and surprising case of Andrade, who may not be able to compete for All Elite Wrestling until next year despite having officially returned to the company. The reason lies in the new TKO contracts for WWE Superstars, which include a clause that affects any special departure from the company, as has happened in the case of "El Ídolo".

After Andrade's appearance on AEW Dynamite, WWE sent a 'cease and desist' letter to Tony Khan's company, which led to the Mexican wrestler being removed from television programming while the legal team studies the case. Meanwhile, the media continues to investigate the matter, even going so far as to ask Khan directly during the recent media call ahead of AEW WrestleDream.

"I asked Tony Khan about Andrade’s current situation with AEW. He said he had very kind words for Andrade when he left AEW in 2023," said Alba. "I directly asked whether he’s still under contract or if they were aware of a non-compete clause with WWE. He said that was all he could say for now," wrote Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated.

Regardless of the controversy these new contracts have generated in public opinion, the truth is that we are facing a very thorny legal issue, especially if Andrade had already signed a new contract with AEW. However, while the situation is clarified, "El Ídolo" could return to Mexico to work, as the one-year non-compete clause only applies within the United States.

Even so, the obligation not to compete for twelve months in another promotion within the country seems extremely abusive to many fans, regardless of which company they support. For now, everything is in the hands of the lawyers. In the meantime, Andrade will have no choice but to wait, with all his AEW plans on hold until further notice.
