Andrade has been the protagonist of the last few hours due to his contractual situation with All Elite Wrestling and WWE. The former WWE champion had reappeared on the October 3 episode of Dynamite, attacking Kenny Omega and joining the Don Callis Family. However, since then, his presence has been completely erased from the programming.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW announcers have received direct orders not to mention Andrade or his story with Omega. "AEW has stopped making any reference to him on television and never followed up on the angle. After the scene recorded on October 1, his participation has not been acknowledged again," the report states.
The Mexican was also absent from the Don Callis Family birthday celebration segment, confirming that the company is trying to eliminate any trace of his story. Meanwhile, AEW seemed to be heading towards a new rivalry between Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, Josh Alexander, and Mark Davis, but those plans fell apart after Ibushi's serious femur injury.
For now, AEW has chosen to eliminate any reference to Andrade El Idolo in its broadcasts, and his future within the company is uncertain. It is unknown if his absence is due to contractual issues or a creative decision, although his situation seems to be linked to the legal dispute that still connects him with WWE and the alleged non-compete period he would have violated.
As confirmed by several media outlets, Andrade signed a new contract with WWE that included a TKO clause that obligates wrestlers not to compete in a wrestling company in the United States for a year, a rule that has sparked a great debate in the community.
