Blake Monroe, formerly known as Mariah May, surprised WWE fans with an unexpected appearance on the June 3 episode of NXT, where she confirmed her arrival to the company. Thus, weeks of rumors and speculations came to an end as the former AEW Women's World Champion began a new stage in her professional career.

Since then, many AEW fans have criticized the British wrestler for moving to the competition. She, on the other hand, has stated in numerous interviews that her dream has always been to compete in WWE. Still, there are those who believe that Monroe should have debuted on the main roster and not in NXT. This issue was brought up again in a recent appearance on The Masked Man Show, where she included a subtle jab at her former company in her response.

"Yeah, I mean, to date, NXT has had the highest viewership of any show I've been on. I also think you have to consider that WWE is huge, the amount of TV presence they have with Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair... they have millions of followers and all that TV visibility. I know I can be on the same level as them, but I feel like, why wouldn't I go to NXT to keep building my brand and keep presenting myself to the WWE universe?

They might know me, probably not, I don't think any of these guys know who I am. Tell them who I am and also make NXT my brand, because I really feel like I'm achieving it and can achieve it. Why not take that opportunity to gain that TV presence, grow within WWE, use the resources and be able to talk to Shawn, Matt Bloom, and all these amazing coaches?

When I get to the main roster and face these giants, I'll really have the best possible chance of success, because they are huge superstars, so I have to build my path a little more," responded "The Glamour".

Since her arrival at NXT, Monroe has been involved in a fierce rivalry with Jordynne Grace, which ended with "The Juggernaut" emerging victorious at No Mercy. After that, she began a storyline with ZaRuca, making it clear her desire to conquer the NXT Women's North American Championship, currently held by Sol Ruca.
