All Elite Wrestling held a new edition of WrestleDream tonight, an event that featured great matches and standout moments. One of the main points was the semifinal match for the AEW World Championship, where "Hangman" Adam Page managed to defeat Samoa Joe. However, things did not end well, as The Opps, the Trios Champions, surprised the champion with a betrayal attack.
The match started aggressively, with Adam Page surprising Samoa Joe with a quick offensive. The action soon moved to ringside, where Joe punished the champion with a kick that hit a chair. Back in the ring, Joe took control with a Powerslam and a Crossface in the center of the ring, pushing the champion to his limits in the early minutes.
The exchange of punishment continued, Page resisted an attempt of Coquina Clutch and a Muscle Buster, reversing Joe's offense to hit a Deadeye but it wasn't enough for the three count. Joe, on the other hand, dodged the champion's first Buckshot Lariat and responded with his own submission move, forcing Page to use the ropes to break free.
The climax was explosive: Page refused to fall to the Muscle Buster and unleashed three consecutive Buckshot Lariats on Samoa Joe, ultimately overcoming the challenger and securing the three count to retain the AEW World Championship. However, the celebration was short-lived, as Joe and his The Opps partners brutally attacked Page, finishing him off with a Muscle Buster onto the title.
