The AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Moné, has issued a new challenge that could mark a before and after in the women's division. After a confrontation with Kris Statlander during WrestleDream, Moné officially challenged the AEW Women's World Champion to a title vs. title match at Full Gear, on November 22nd in Newark, New Jersey.

During the broadcast of WrestleDream, Statlander was celebrating her successful defense against Toni Storm when Moné interrupted the celebration to demand she leave the ring. However, the World Champion later avenged the offense, returning to the ring after Moné's victory, where she achieved a record of 11 simultaneous titles, to surprise attack her and leave her lying in the center of the ring.

Later, in a backstage promo, Moné officially issued the challenge to Statlander to face off at Full Gear. There has been no response from the World Champion yet, but if the match is confirmed, it will be the third individual encounter between them. In the previous two — Full Gear 2024 and Worlds End — Moné managed to prevail and retain the TBS title.

Moné is also expanding her legacy outside of AEW. This Sunday, she will seek to conquer her twelfth championship at an independent event in Winnipeg (Manitoba, Canada), where she will face Jody Threat. Moné's current record is generating a kind of rejection among fans, even the most loyal to the product, although there is still a group defending the number of simultaneous titles she has achieved.
