Live Report of WWE NXT October 21, 2025

WWE NXT begins on Netflix!

The show starts with a video recap of last week's episode.

The full lineup of The Culling opens tonight's show. Izzi Dame, Tatum Paxley, Shawn Spears, and Niko Vance head to the ring. "Tatum, Tatum!" chants the fans. Paxley embraces Izzi. "You deserve it!" cheers the audience. "Guys, I DID IT, damn it!" exclaims Tatum. "Tatum Tatum!" the fans chant again. Paxley recalls her victory last week, where she overcame nineteen other women to finally earn her first shot at the NXT Women's Championship. Four years ago, she started her journey in the brand, and the fans have witnessed everything that has happened to her during this time. They saw her lose all her friends, they saw her being left alone,... but there has always been a consistent friendship, one that has always supported her. "And it's each one of you, who have always been there for me!" she exclaims. The fans have always supported her, and now it's time to compete for the ultimate gold in her first PLE. And not just any gold, but the most appropriate for her: Halloween Havoc. "Everything is going very well. I couldn't be happier. I'm in The Culling, I have my best friend. Izzi, you've taken care of me when the rest of the women tried to use me. You promised me you'd be by my side, so I promise you this because I owe it to you: I'll bring individual gold to The Culling. You've had my back, so I know I'll become the new NXT Women's Champion," says Tatum before hugging Dame. "Izzi, you and I are going to dominate this division, together, hand in hand," Tatum continues before...

Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid) interrupt the segment

"Izzi, are you going to tell her or do I have to do it?", Jayne asks. "Fine, I'll be the bad girl, as always. Tatum, you don't stand a chance of winning on Saturday," says Jacy before heading to the ring with her teammates. Jayne points out that the support Paxley has from the audience won't help her at Halloween Havoc. In fact, that support doesn't even make her different from the others. Tatum is just a weirdo who used to hide when things went wrong. That being said, she believes Paxley should have let Dame win the battle royal, because at least she would have had a chance to take the gold from her.

Tatum speaks up to make it clear to Jacy that she won't be able to sow discord between her and Izzi. Additionally, of all the women present in the ring, Jayne should know better than anyone how she feels at this moment, how difficult it is to reach the top. It took Jayne years to achieve it, even being part of one of the most dominant factions in NXT history. Jacy had already won gold with that faction, so the audience expected her to eventually win it again. And that doesn't work the same for people like Tatum. There are no opportunities for people like her. And yes, maybe she hid, but unlike Jacy, she grew stronger. "I trained day in and day out. I just didn't have the spotlight on me to show it. Day after day, night after night, failure after failure, but on Saturday you can bet anything you want that my time will have come to become the NXT Women's Champion!", exclaims Tatum.

Fallon Henley speaks up to mock Tatum, pointing out that all that emotion she exudes will make her failure even sweeter. "I just hope that Izzi and The Culling don't abandon you when you disappoint them this weekend at Halloween Havoc", says Henley. Dame finds that comment funny coming from a woman who kicked one of her friends out of her faction. "Unlike Fatal Influence, The Culling is stronger than ever, and Tatum has been a great addition to this group. So say what you want, because we will always accept Tatum for who she is", says Izzi.

Jacy confesses that she had always had great respect for Dame, whom she believed was the true leader of The Culling, but with Paxley in the mix, it seems that's no longer the case. Now Izzi seems more like a babysitter than a leader. "Oh, believe me Jacy Jayne when I say that I have absolute control over my team", Dame responds as she approaches the NXT Women's Champion. Tatum stops her companion. Paxley knows that Izzi always supports her, while the members of Fatal Influence only do so when it suits them. "I know my friends are happy for me. Can you say the same, Jacy Jayne?", Tatum asks. Jayne looks at her teammates. "Because Izzi and I are ready to prove it tonight", says Tatum. Fallon assures her that they are always ready for action. "Be careful what you wish for, weirdo", says Jayne to accept the challenge. Jacy signals to her teammates to attack Tatum and Dame. However, they quickly get rid of their enemies. Izzi and Paxley take turns hitting Jacy. Tatum prepares to execute a Psycho Trap on the champion, but Fallon and Lainey save her just in time. Izzi and Tatum smile in the ropes area while Jacy berates them from the ground. And so we reach the end of the first segment of the night.

Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Arianna Grace converse backstage, with the former wondering why Santino Marella referred to him as a "future son-in-law" last week. "Oh, maybe I dropped some hints," Grace replies. Lorenzo then proposes that she accompany him to the ring for his title match tonight. Arianna agrees. Hand in hand, they head to the ring. Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater mock the scene. Slater reminds his friend that they need to find opponents for Halloween Havoc. Evans, however, advises him to focus first on defending his X-Division Championship against "Stacks." Once he defeats him, they can focus all their attention on next Saturday's PLE. They fist bump before continuing on their way.

X-Division Championship Match
Leon Slater (c) (with Je'Von Evans) vs. Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo (with Arianna Grace)

Both men start with a feeling-out phase, with Slater cornering his opponent. The referee orders him to step away from "Stacks," who takes the opportunity to surprise the champion with an elbow. Slater recovers to take down Lorenzo with a Monkey Flip. The action continues. Channing blocks a sunset flip to kick Slater, who quickly takes him to one of the corners to unleash a flurry of attacks.

Lorenzo repeatedly throws his opponent against the turnbuckles to damage his back. Slater kicks Channing before expelling him from the ring. Leon dives on him with a diving crossbody. Slater celebrates with Je'Von, who takes one of the headsets from the commentary table to announce that the broadcast is going to a new commercial break. During the break, Leon unleashes an incessant rain of chops on Channing.

Slater brings the challenger back into the ring, where he continues to dominate the situation. Leon hits Channing against a corner over and over. Slater takes down Lorenzo with a dropkick. After that, he finishes him off with a side suplex. 1..2..NO. "Stacks" escapes to ringside, where Arianna helps him hide under the ring skirt. Slater steps out of the ring to go after him.

Leon looks for Channing, who returns to the ring from the opposite side. "Stacks" tries to surprise the champion, but he stops him with a kick. Slater climbs to the apron, ready to use the top rope as a springboard for his next attack, but his opponent hits the rope to make him fall. The champion hurts his ribs in the fall. In this way, "Stacks" regains control of the fight.

Channing executes a gutbuster on Leon. 1..2..NO. The champion recovers to surprise his opponent with a spinning slam. Channing approaches Arianna, who quickly climbs onto the apron to check on her beloved. Leon goes after his opponent, using the ropes for support for a handspring elbow. As a result, Grace falls to ringside, but Je'Von catches her in mid-air, preventing her from hitting the ground.

Angry, "Stacks" knocks out Leon with a superkick and exits the ring in search of Evans. He leaves Arianna on the ground and hides behind her. Leon steps out of the ring, only for his opponent to throw him against the commentary table. Arianna smiles, fully satisfied after her beloved came to her rescue.

The action returns to the ring, where Slater falls on Channing with a diving crossbody. The champion continues with a spinning kick, followed by a big boot. Slater expels Lorenzo from the ring before launching himself with a tope over one of the posts. Leon brings his opponent back into the ring, where he finishes him off with a Swanton 450. 1..2..3.

Winner and STILL TNA X-Division Champion: Leon Slater

Je'Von and Leon celebrate in the center of the ring. Each takes a microphone. Evans congratulates his friend on his successful defense before pointing out that it's time to think about Halloween Havoc. Slater recalls that they have put on a great show facing each other in a ring, so he proposes that they do it again, this time as a team. Je'Von agrees with him. That said, they issue an open challenge to any team, regardless of the brand they come from.

La Parka and Mr. Iguana interrupt the scene!

"Iguana, Iguana!" chants the fans. "Correct me if I'm wrong. Were you planning on celebrating Halloween Havoc without La Parka, Mr. Iguana, and La Yesca?", asks the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion. Mr. Iguana reveals that he has had a conversation with Ava and can now announce that at Halloween Havoc, they will be Je'Von and Leon's opponents. "And just so you know. AAA has taken over Mexico, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. And this Saturday, Prescott Valley will be next", says Mr. Iguana. And so we reach the end of this segment.

Zachary Wentz and Jasper Troy are the protagonists of a promotional video before their WWE Speed match.

We see The Americans (Rayo and Bravo Americano) in the front row, attentive to the upcoming match.

WWE Speed Tournament - First Round
Zachary Wentz vs. Jasper Troy

Wentz uses his agility to escape from Jasper. Zachary surprises his opponent with a superkick before applying a scissor kick. Wentz continues to kick Troy, whom he expels from the ring. Zachary returns to launch himself with a suicide dive, but Jasper stops him in mid-air. Wentz escapes from Troy's clutches to launch himself with a spinning dive, which hits his opponent head-on. Zachary brings him back to execute a Swanton Bomb. 1..2..NO. Troy stops Wentz's offensive with a tackle before finishing him off with a Black Hole Slam. 1..2..3.

Winner: Jasper Troy (2:04)

Kelani Jordan finds her clothes scattered at the dressing room door. Lola Vice informs her that she is no longer welcome in the women's locker room, as she chose TNA over NXT. Vice leaves the place, followed by Kali Armstrong and Karmen Petrovic, who throw another garment to the ground. Jordynne Grace appears, asking for some respect for Jordan. "If you were in her shoes, you would have done the same," says "The Juggernaut" before bending down to help Kelani pick up her things. "I don't need you to defend me. You also played your part in the Survivor Series match, remember?" says Jordan as she retrieves the garment Jordynne picked up. Jaida Parker opens the door to throw more of Kelani's things. "I think that's everything. Goodbye," says Parker before returning to the locker room. "You clearly need help," insists Grace before pointing out that she has been in the same position as her. "I'm starting to think you're my biggest fan. I don't know what's going on. You're envious because I'm carrying something you once had. Besides, you've never been an NXT champion, right?", asks Jordan as she continues to pick up her things from the ground. Jordynne looks at her silently with a serious face. And so we reach the end of this segment.

DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Shaquon Shugars, and Osiris Griffin) carry out a promo backstage. The faction makes it clear that they were not willing to forget their defeat against The Hardy Boyz at NXT Showdown. Now, they are ready to spoil the party for the TNA talents. They don't care that The Hardys are legends because they are the present and the future. In fact, putting an end to them once and for all will be a sweet moment for them. This Saturday, they will regain the NXT Tag Team Championships, and the legends will know that when DarkState attacks, they won't...

Matt and Jeff interrupt the video from "The Hardy Compound." The champions walk through the grounds, stopping to greet Matt's children and Mr. Benjamin, who tends to the garden alongside Vanguard 1. Matt and Jeff assure DarkState that they didn't catch them off guard. They knew the faction wouldn't give up. And if the heels think they have them where they want them, they are mistaken. It may have left them broken, weakened, shattered (broken), but that's the kind of situation where they overcome it. Matt and Jeff reach the Lake of Reincarnation, in which they quickly immerse themselves (while Reby Sky plays the piano). The Hardys emerge as Broken Matt and Brother Nero. With renewed strength, the champions challenge DarkState to a Broken Rules Match at Halloween Havoc. "DarkState, you're simply going to disappear and be labeled as obsolete," says Jeff. "Obsolete! You are sentenced to deletion!", exclaims Matt. "DELETE! DELETE! DELETE! DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!"

We see Sol Ruca walking backstage with the help of crutches. Zaria accompanies her. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Zaria asks. "Yes, I'm sure," Ruca replies before resuming her walk to the ring.

We return from commercials to see Ava, Sol and Zaria in the center of the ring. The General Manager reminds Ruca that they’ve already talked about this matter and that there’s no reason for her to do this. However, Sol wants to go ahead. Visibly emotional, Ruca reveals that she suffered an injury to her left knee during her title match against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss in last week’s episode of SmackDown. Sol says she doesn’t blame her opponents, because accidents happen in this business. Sol reveals that currently she doesn’t have medical clearance to compete, nor has she been informed of any approximate return date, which will inevitably prevent her from wrestling at Halloween Havoc. Ava understands what she means, but there are things they must discuss, such as the future of the WWE Speed Championship. “I don’t want to hold back a division, much less two,” says Sol. “I won the North American Championship in a Ladder Match at Stand & Deliver because Stephanie Vaquer said there are many women in that locker room waiting for an opportunity, and that hasn’t changed. But I will reclaim this…”

Blake Monroe interrupts the segment

The Brit insists to Ruca that she need not worry about the North American Championship. Blake reminds everyone that she was scheduled to wrestle for the title at Halloween Havoc, and since Sol won’t be able to defend it, she believes the fairest thing is for her to be crowned the new champion. Zaria interrupts, making it clear that in NXT titles aren’t simply handed out. Blake points out that there is no one on the brand who could be a better champion than her. Zaria comes up with an idea. “Sol, I can defend the title against Blake at Halloween Havoc. I can defend the North American Championship in Sol’s honor — Ava?” the Australian asks. Horrified, Monroe begs the General Manager not to approve that idea. Ava, however, believes Sol should make that decision. “I fought so hard for this title, but there is no one in this world I trust more than you, Zaria. So I say yes,” responds Ruca. With this confirmation, Ava announces that Zaria will defend the title on Sol’s behalf against Blake at Halloween Havoc. Blake confronts Ava, chastising her decision. Tired, Zaria surprises Monroe and hits an F‑6. The Brit lands face‑first on the canvas. Zaria snatches up the championship from Sol to hold it over her fallen enemy as the segment ends.

Axiom and “Super” Sean Legacy are featured in a promotional video before their WWE Speed match.

Anonymous shares a backstage video. In it, we see Tavion Heights and Myles Borne lamenting their recent failures. Josh Briggs interrupts the conversation to mock both of them. Josh points out that while they’re still trying to gain popularity, he ended Matt Cardona — the most popular guy on the internet — and enjoyed the rage the fans poured in afterwards. He now wonders whether Borne and Heights will keep waiting for another opportunity. Finally, Briggs makes it clear that there is only one spot at the top, and it’s his. Josh leaves to end the segment.

WWE Speed Tournament — First Round
“Super” Sean Legacy vs. Axiom

Legacy evades a dropkick to begin a fast exchange of attacks with the masked man. Sean surprises Axiom with a dropkick and finishes with an inverted neckbreaker. Axiom answers with a German suplex. The Spaniard blocks a moonsault, but can’t do anything against a slam. Axiom dodges a 450 splash to catch his opponent in a Triangle Choke. Legacy frees himself only to take an enzuigiri.

Axiom surprises Sean with a Standing Spanish Fly. Both men lie face‑up on the canvas. The clock keeps running. Legacy surprises Axiom with a superkick. The two keep exchanging attacks as the action moves to the top of a corner. Axiom catches Sean and lands a Spanish Fly. 1…2…3.

Winner: Axiom (2:56)

Ethan Page delivers a promo to send a message to El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. “All Ego” remains composed while revealing he’s been studying his opponent. Page knows the Mexican has fought countless battles, competed around the world, and put his physical integrity on the line to defend the honor of his mask. “Well, amigo. This Saturday we’re going to fight for something more important than your mask. We’re going to fight for MY North American Championship!” exclaims “All Ego.” He knows El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. has a family legacy to defend, the same passed down from his father, the person who awarded him the Latin American Championship at Triplemanía. Ethan states that his father couldn’t beat him at his best — and that also applies to his son. “This is your match, your rules, but when it comes to my title and my continent, you'll be the one who ends up dead in the desert,” says “All Ego” as he shows half his face painted like a Catrina.

Tag Team Match
Hank Walker & Tank Ledger vs. OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price)

Walker and Ledger go after OTM to kick off the fight outside the ring. Hank and Tank hit parallel suicide dives. Ledger brings Price into the ring to start the match. Hank and Tank combine perfectly against their opponents. Lucien throws Walker into the ropes. The referee pushes him away from his opponent, which Bronco exploits to illegally attack him.

OTM continue dominating the match. Nima slams Hank’s face into a corner. Lucien and Bronco combine efforts, with the latter crushing Hank’s chest with a stomp. Lucien throws Walker into the corner before executing a huge corner clothesline. Hank escapes to tag Tank, who enters with full force.

Ledger hits a Electric Chair on Bronco before dropping him with a springboard uppercut. 1…2…NO. Price interrupts the count. Walker enters the ring, only to be felled by Lucien with an uranage. Tank strikes Price with a knee, when Bronco surprises him with a spinning slam. Nima tags Lucien and together they hit their combined finisher (a pendulum slam) on Ledger. 1…2…3.

Winners: OTM

Bronco and Price are not done. Nima dismantles the steel stairs to smash Hank’s head—he’s knocked out beside the commentary table. After that, Bronco joins Price in executing a crucifix slam on Hank, whose body crashes through the table. The OTM members send a warning to the NXT tag division as the segment ends.

We see Wren Sinclair talking on the phone with Charlie Dempsey. Lash Legend sits near her, motioning for her to speak more quietly. Wren informs her colleague she’s working on something that will change the foundations of their faction, promising that she won’t do anything reckless. Legend decides she’s had enough and stands up, ready to leave the room. The call ends and Wren stops Lash to explain the situation. However, Legend doesn’t appear very interested. Sinclair believes her partner misses her, though he seems busy in Japan. Lash doubts Dempsey misses her. Wren wants Charlie to have a place he wants to return to (No Quarter Catch Crew). “Didn’t you say you didn’t want to do anything stupid?” Legend asks. Wren thinks she can get what she aims for with a certain feminine touch. “Exactly, stupid,” Lash says. Kendal Grey appears to make it clear to Legend that he won’t let her disrespect Wren. Lash understands that Grey is feeling confident after winning the WWE Evolve Women’s Championship, but advises she let Sinclair fight her own battles. Kendal states she’ll face anyone who believes they can do whatever they want without consequences. “Girl, you better watch yourself,” says Lash before walking away.

Tag Team Match
Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne & Lainey Reid) (with Fallon Henley) vs. The Culling (Tatum Paxley & Izzi Dame)

Lainey and Tatum begin the match. Reid launches the first attack. Paxley tries to regain control, but is struck by a clothesline. Tatum dodges an elbow drop to mount a counterattack. Reid escapes Paxley’s grasp to tag in Jacy. She strikes Izzi in her corner before charging at Tatum.

Paxley brings Jayne down and traps her in her corner. Tatum launches a corner crossbody to smash her opponent with Dame’s help. Dame gets the tag to keep dominating the match. Jacy floors Izzi with a flying elbow. Lainey is tagged in, only to suffer a spinning backbreaker. Tatum is tagged in to take on both opponents at once. Jayne receives a dropkick that sends her out of the ring.

Tatum attempts a rope dropkick on Jacy, but Fallon moves her just in time to take the blow instead. Jayne takes advantage and grabs Paxley’s legs, leaving her vulnerable to a neckbreaker by Lainey. Lainey and Jacy pose on the apron next to their fallen rival. Jayne continues attacking Tatum, applying a suplex. 1…2…NO.

Reid is tagged in to continue punishing her opponent. Jacy and Lainey alternate to beat on Tatum. Jayne locks in a headlock. Paxley springs backwards into a corner to free herself. Paxley and Jayne exchange strikes. Jacy delivers a knee to Tatum’s face before felling her with a clothesline. 1…2…NO.

Jacy executes a cannonball on Paxley. Lainey is tagged in to finish her with an underhook piledriver. Tatum’s head slams onto Reid’s knee. 1…2…NO. Paxley kicks Lainey, and both fall to the canvas. Tatum and Reid crawl toward their corners to tag their partners.

Dame enters with full force, handling both opponents and cornering them. Afterward, she delivers a double face‑breaker to both. Izzi finishes off Jacy with a chokeslam. 1…2…NO. Jayne surprises Dame with a DDT. Paxley is tagged in. Jacy catches her with a superkick. The match descends into chaos.

Lainey delivers a superkick to Dame, who counters with a clothesline. The two end up at ringside. Meanwhile, Jacy and Tatum exchange attacks. Paxley surprises Jayne with an enzuigiri. Fallon climbs to the apron to distract Tatum. Dame returns to knock out Henley with a right hand. She sets up to finish her, but Lainey grabs her legs to pull her out of the ring. Reid hurls Izzi into the steel stairs. Meanwhile, Jayne knocks Tatum out with a Rolling Encore. 1…2…3.

Winners: Fatal Influence

Fatal Influence continue attacking Izzi and Tatum. Jacy orders her teammates to restrain Paxley, whom she tries to strike with her championship. However, Tatum breaks free. Paxley shakes off Fallon and Lainey before executing a Psycho Trap on Jayne, whose back slams onto the belt. Tatum poses with the NXT Women’s Championship on the ropes area. And that’s how the segment comes to an end.

We return from a commercial break to find Ava waiting in the ring. In front of her is a table with two chairs. Meanwhile, several security guards are stationed on the apron. Ava reminds everyone that this Saturday, two of NXT's biggest superstars will face off one-on-one for the brand’s top championship. Last week, things got out of control, but tonight she’s spoken with those involved and made it clear they’ll need to keep their cool. With that, she introduces Trick Williams and Ricky Saints for the contract signing of their match at Halloween Havoc. The challenger is the first to make his entrance and take a seat. He’s followed by the champion, who soon joins him at the table.

Trick is the first to speak. Williams recalls that last week he made it clear to Ricky that things happen when he says so. Trick doesn’t show up just because someone calls him. He shows up when he knows the spotlight will shine on him. That’s what this is all about. "You’re mad because even though you're the NXT Champion, Trick Williams is still the Man of NXT, the main event,” says Williams. And that’s why he left him high and dry at NXT Showdown — to prove there’s only one man who can elevate the brand, and his name is Trick Williams. The challenger makes it clear he doesn’t love NXT and doesn’t owe it anything. Not even TNA. The only person he owes anything to is himself. And that’s why, at Halloween Havoc, he will become a three-time NXT Champion. With that, he signs the contract.

Ricky acknowledges that he’s an emotional man, and he’s not afraid to admit it. But he knows who he is, just like he knows he’s never changed. Winning the NXT Championship can affect people in different ways: it can make you complacent or impatient. In his case, it’s helped him stay focused on his goals. What did the title do for Williams? First it started the "Whoop That Era," and then it corrupted Trick, who now claims he’s bigger than the title itself — and even the brand. "Far as I'm concerned, you were ready to walk away from this place a long time ago," says Ricky.

Trick figures it must be hard for Saints to see what he’s built here in such a short time, when "The Absolute" has spent decades grinding on the indie scene. "Look at me. Do I look like someone who belongs on the indies? Of course not!" Trick exclaims. "I look like a Hollywood star. I look good. I look like a champion," he adds. Ricky signs the contract and hands it back to Ava. Williams continues, pointing out that he doesn’t see Saints as a champion — he sees someone who wants to be Trick Williams’ stunt double. Trick makes it clear that Ricky will never replace him, and the best he can hope for is to stand across from him in a ring. With that, he promises that the "Absolute Era" will end at Halloween Havoc when he beats him to reclaim the NXT Championship.

Angry, Ricky insists that Williams would never have survived on the indie scene. "Let me tell you something about me. I will never be a replacement for Trick Williams! I’m an original copy! You try to be like me, but I’m smoother, sharper, and more stylish than you’ll ever be! I’m the man who is the face of NXT! Got it? This is my house, and on Saturday you’ll be at my mercy, because I am Absolute!" Saints yells, squaring up to Williams. Security quickly rushes the ring to separate them. Trick seizes the moment to land a right hand on Ricky. Both men fight off the security guards. Williams kicks Saints and sets up for his next move, but the champion stops him and slams him through the table, which breaks apart. Ricky picks up the title and poses over his fallen opponent. And with that, this week’s show comes to an end.
