The wrestler Elijah, formerly known as Elias in WWE, is getting closer to his long-awaited return to the ring after a triceps injury suffered last June in NXT. In an interview with WrestleZone, he recounted how attempting to emulate Undertaker's classic rope-walk in a tag team match led to a complete muscle tear, requiring surgery just a week later.
Elijah himself has shared in the media and on social networks that his recovery is "going well", and although he has not yet been medically cleared to compete, he has been given the green light to participate in limited action segments. In fact, he played a key role at TNA Bound For Glory on October 12, hitting Nic Nemeth with a guitar and preventing him from cashing in his Call Your Shot Gauntlet contract. "I'm well enough to play a song or smash a guitar if needed," he joked, while expressing interest in returning for Turning Point weekend.
The ideal scenario would be to return for the Turning Point event in Orlando (November 13-15), but the decision depends on the doctors and the surgeon. If not there, I want to be ready for the TNA tapings in El Paso starting December 5.
Elijah, who now also sports a visible scar and a screw in his arm, acknowledges that the wait has been long but his motivation remains strong. "I already feel mentally and physically prepared to get back into the routine. If it were up to me, I'd return now, but I have to respect the process," he stated. Everything indicates that fans will see him back in action in the coming weeks, either at the next pay-per-view or at the latest in the year-end televised events.
