The upcoming episode of AEW Collision will bring a new international showdown as Mercedes Moné puts the CMLL Women's World Championship on the line against wrestler Olympia. The match, officially confirmed during last Saturday's broadcast, will take place on November 1st in Edinburg, Texas.
Olympia, who made her AEW debut by surprising everyone with a victory over Taya Valkyrie in an open challenge, later issued a challenge to Moné in a backstage interview. The "CEO" accepted without hesitation, ensuring the first-ever encounter between the two inside the ring. The CMLL wrestler is seeking her first major individual title in a rising career, while Moné continues to solidify her dominance across multiple international championships.
Mercedes Moné captured the CMLL belt last June during AEW Grand Slam Mexico, defeating Zeuxis. Since then, she has successfully defended the title against La Catalina and Persephone. Additionally, the current champion holds a total of 12 titles across AEW, ROH, and various independent promotions, including the TBS and Women's Television Championships of Ring of Honor.
The match signifies a new alliance between AEW and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, which continues to send some of its female talent to compete on American soil. In the words of Tony Khan, the bout "marks another step in the global expansion of women's wrestling and in building relationships between the two oldest and most innovative promotions in the industry today."
Below you can find the lineup for AEW Collision on November 1st, which will be updated in the coming days.
