One of the hottest rivalries of the year will ignite at the next Lucha Libre AAA event on November 28, when El Hijo del Vikingo will face off one-on-one against El Grande Americano following a tense confrontation that took place at Héroes Inmortales.
The evening began with Vikingo receiving a wave of boos from the fans, who even chanted the name of Alberto Del Río, a star who, although no longer appears on AAA television, still maintains a loyal fan base. Upset by this, Vikingo delivered a strong message to the fans: “Get over it” ("Supérenlo"), and proclaimed himself as “the Canelo of AAA”, promising to regain the Megachampionship and reaffirm his supremacy in the company.
Tension escalated when El Grande Americano stormed into the ring and began mocking Vikingo, sparking an exchange of insults. Vikingo questioned El Grande Americano's true Mexicanness, but the audience showed their support for the masked wrestler, creating a divided and fervent atmosphere. The situation spiraled out of control until security had to intervene to separate them.
Both wrestlers agreed to settle their differences at the grand AAA event taking place on November 28 in Puebla, Vikingo's hometown.
