The world of professional wrestling continues to mourn the loss of the legend Hulk Hogan, who passed away on July 24 at the age of 71. Recently, Goldberg, the man who defeated Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in 1998, shared emotional details about his personal relationship with the icon.
During an appearance on Real Talk with Mike Burke, Goldberg revealed that, while they weren't inseparable, his relationship with Hogan was close, and he served as an important mentor during his career. "I was pretty close to him. I can't say we hung out all the time, but he was a huge influence in my life," Goldberg confessed.
The former wrestler highlighted Hogan's generosity, noting that the "Hulkster" helped him in ways he didn't have to. "He taught me things he never had to teach me. He took time with me in situations he never had to. He was a good guy. He always treated me with respect," Goldberg affirmed.
The most emotional part of the interview came when Goldberg revealed the date of his last conversation with Hogan. When asked by Mike Burke, Goldberg replied: "It was about a week before he passed away," confirming that their last contact was very recent.
