Alberto El Patrón has broken his silence after receiving support from Mexican fans, months after officially leaving Lucha Libre AAA last July, following his defeat against El Mesías. Although the former champion has not returned to the company since his departure, he still has a significant fan base in his home country.

During a recent Lucha Libre AAA event, the audience began chanting El Patrón's name, which prompted an ironic reaction from El Hijo del Vikingo, who responded from the ring saying: "Get over it, haha!". Alberto himself reacted shortly after on X, showing his gratitude for the affection of the Mexican audience: "Thank you, my beloved Mexico, for not forgetting your boss."

Alberto's situation within the current landscape of Mexican and global wrestling remains uncertain. After WWE acquired AAA at the beginning of 2025, El Patrón's role in the company was drastically reduced. Despite being one of the most recognized figures in the promotion in the past year, his name was not mentioned during the announcement of the acquisition, and WWE has avoided making direct references to him since then.

El Patrón was released from WWE in 2014 after a backstage altercation, and although he returned a year later, he was released again in 2016. In May 2025, he was involved in an incident with a fan during an AAA event in Tijuana, resulting in his suspension within the territory, worsening his situation with the company.

Supports inside and outside the ring

Despite the issues, Alberto El Patrón continues to receive support from some figures within WWE. Rey Mysterio publicly hinted that he will try to "bring back" the Mexican, although it was not clear if he was referring to WWE or AAA. It has also been mentioned that superstars like Roman Reigns would welcome his return.

For now, El Patrón remains outside of AAA and without confirmed plans to return, but the support of his fans in Mexico shows that his name still carries weight in the hearts of many Latin American wrestling fans.
