Real1, better known as Enzo Amore in WWE, is undoubtedly one of the most controversial talents in the business. The wrestler is known for his inflammatory statements, where he usually doesn't hold back. Real1 was fired from WWE after being accused of sexual assault. A case that ended up being dismissed due to lack of evidence.

Since then, he has competed in the independent scene and even for TNA Wrestling. However, he has never had a chance in AEW. The Tony Khan company has never shown interest in the wrestler. This is how Real1 explained it in a recent interview on The Rich Eisen Show.

"AEW was something I considered. I reached out to them. They showed no interest. I'm at a point where, if it's 'screw you,' then 'screw you'. What do I care? What are they going to do, cancel me? What do I care? I have nothing to lose, brother. I've already lost everything. I've been dragged through the mud. When you're treated like garbage, the mud sticks to you. If you treat me a certain way, I'll treat you the same. I have no problem with the business because I'm in a very good place right now," Real1 said.

Real1 wanted to make it clear that WWE has always been the only option for him, and he never seriously considered joining AEW despite everything. It is worth remembering that the wrestler earned the hatred of Tony Khan's company fans after some unfortunate statements in February of this year.

"I'm here at MetLife Stadium, but it could be worse. I could be in an empty parking lot, like AEW. Actually, I could be in a used car lot called AEW, where a star has never been born"

Currently, Real1 works for 4th Rope, an independent promotion that combines the best of wrestling with hip hop and fashion. The wrestler signed with the company at the end of 2024, winning the promotion's Lightweight Championship just a few months later. A title he has defended in several independent scene promotions since then.
