Today we will once again enjoy a new live coverage of WWE SmackDown, which this time will be broadcast live from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. This will be the last episode of the blue brand before WWE Saturday Night's Main Event and will feature several segments and matches of interest, highlighting the contract signing for the match between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre on tomorrow's show.
Additionally, Alexa Bliss will face off against Nia Jax one-on-one. On the other hand, it is expected that Ilja Dragunov will hold a new open challenge for the United States Championship. As always, we invite you to comment on the post to give your opinion on what happens on the show.
WWE SmackDown begins on Netflix!
We see the arrival of some of tonight's protagonists at the venue: Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, Nia Jax, Alexa Bliss (alongside Charlotte Flair), and Jade Cargill ("disguised" as The Punisher).
Tiffany Stratton interrupts the presentation of Corey Graves and Michael Cole to step into the ring. Stratton orders the show's music to stop playing. "I have scores to settle with Jade Cargill and I'm not going to wait for my music to play or for tomorrow night. Jade Cargill, I want you here and now! Let's go!", exclaims Tiffany.
Nick Aldis appears on the scene to remind the WWE Women's Champion that she has a medical clearance up to a certain point, which means she is not allowed any physical contact before her match tomorrow night. "Do you really think I care about what the doctors have to say after what happened last week? For someone so strong, The Storm seems like a coward. Jade, come out! Face me!", shouts Tiffany.
Cargill soon appears on the entrance ramp, followed by several security members and officials. Aldis explains the same to Stratton: she is forbidden from physical contact with the champion. With that said, he calls the show's security to escort her back to backstage. Meanwhile, Jade assures that she didn't come out to fight, as it doesn't benefit her in any way. "A couple of weeks ago, my head was split open and I tasted my own blood. Now I know what I want. What I want is that title. So tomorrow at Saturday Night's Main Event, Tiffy Time will come to an end", says Jade. Furious, Stratton limps back to the ring, where she raises her championship. Meanwhile, a smiling Jade exits through the entrance ramp. And so we reach the end of the first segment of the night.
We see a promotional video starring Ilja Dragunov. "Suffering is life's true test," says the Russian as we see some of his best moments in the ring. "Pain will entertain you," he concludes.
Ilja Dragunov makes his entrance to head inside the ring.
Dressed as Santa Claus, R-Truth hands out gummy bears to Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) backstage. They ask their companion if it's his Halloween costume, because tonight is not Christmas. "Do you think it's Halloween? You're in the wrong month. God bless you," R-Truth replies before leaving. Solo Sikoa approaches Motor City Machine Guns to advise them not to accept candy from strangers. With that said, he points out that he overheard them last week speaking ill of his family. Shelley clarifies that they were talking about the WWE Tag Team Championships. Sabin recalls that a year ago they were stripped of the titles, and it's something they aim to achieve for the second time. Solo mocks Sabin calling him "Harry Potter" before making it clear that MFT are first in line to fight for those titles. Chris responds that if he were Harry Potter, he would use a magic trick to shut him up. Regarding the championships, Sabin assures that they are first in line. And they can prove it tonight in the ring. Sikoa thinks it's a good idea, so he will talk to Nick Aldis to make it official. "I'll show you how much things have changed in a year," says Solo before leaving.
Nathan Frazer (accompanied by Axiom) appears on the scene to respond to Dragunov's open challenge, but Tommaso Ciampa doesn't take long to interrupt, stepping into the ring before Nathan to confront the champion. Ciampa doesn't believe the Russian would give an opportunity to a nerd like Frazer before him. Annoyed, Frazer pushes Tommaso. Dragunov shouts at them to make peace. The Russian makes it clear that the challenge is open to everyone. However, this time, Nathan responded first, so the opportunity is his tonight. "When it comes to the United States Championship, there are no rewards for fools," adds Dragunov. Tommaso threatens to attack the Russian, but ultimately decides to leave the ring. Axiom embraces his partner to wish him luck.

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss are interviewed backstage. Neither of them is surprised by the attack they received at the hands of The Kabuki Warriors last Monday, as the Japanese, like all the women on the roster, want their tag team championships. Regarding Nia Jax, Flair regrets that she continues to live in fear, as that is the reason that prevents her from having friends. Something common among Geminis. "Nia Jax has been living in bitterness for years. Tonight I will remind her why I have surpassed her", adds Bliss before leaving.
Sami Zayn talks with Nick Aldis in the General Manager's office. Sami knows he doesn't have medical clearance, but still wants to be present at ringside when Motor City Machine Guns face MFT. Zayn just wants to support his partners because he doesn't trust the faction led by Solo Sikoa. Aldis appreciates the Canadian's warrior spirit, but reminds him that he doesn't have medical clearance, so he can't let him be out there facing a threat like MFT. "Please, stay here," Nick asks. Sami accepts the General Manager's request. Before leaving, Zayn meets Cody Rhodes. They greet each other with a hug. Cody is proud of Sami's reign with the United States Championship. Zayn is also, but now he has another concern: MFT, hoping they behave properly tonight. Sami bids farewell to Rhodes and leaves, wishing him luck for his match tomorrow. Aldis approaches Cody to ask him two things. The first is if he had anything to do with the attack on Jacob Fatu. "I know it's your job to ask, but no. I like Jacob. I'm sorry for what happened to him," Cody replies. With this issue settled, Aldis points out that only the contract signing for their match at Saturday Night's Main Event remains. Nick offers him a copy of it to check that everything is fine. "Coming from you, I trust that everything is fine in the contract. You don't have to show it to me, but to Drew," Rhodes replies. Aldis points out that he will do so. "I'll see you out there," says Cody before leaving.

Rey Fenix approaches MFT backstage. “What the hell do you want? You looking for a fight or something?” asks Solo Sikoa. “No. I don’t want to fight you,” replies the Mexican before walking away. “Fine. Go trick-or-treat somewhere,” says Sikoa. Fenix returns with a box and stands on it. “I want to fight you!” he shouts while pointing at Talla Tonga. “Last week you put your hands on me. So now I want a piece of you!” he exclaims. Talla and Solo laugh. Sikoa accepts the masked man’s challenge, granting him a one-on-one match against Talla next week. “Good!” Fenix shouts before slapping Talla. He tries to retaliate, but Sikoa stops him. “Focus on tonight. We’ll deal with him next week,” says Solo. The entire MFT heads toward the ring.
Damian Priest addresses Aleister Black in a video promo. The Puerto Rican recalls everything Black has done to him over the past few months. However, he doesn’t hate him for it. “For some reason, my existence is something personal to you. Well, guess what, Aleister—you win. Now this is personal for me,” says Priest. “When I get my hands on you, Aleister, not even the devil will be able to stop me. You spread your poison. Now you’ll feel my toxin when you receive my punishment. Happy Halloween.” adds a smiling Damian to end his promo.
Nick Aldis talks with Tiffany Stratton backstage. The WWE Women’s Champion assures the General Manager that she’ll be 100% ready to face Jade Cargill at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Kiana James and Giulia interrupt the conversation. Kiana thinks Stratton should be worried, especially considering the state of her knee. Kiana is convinced the champion won’t be able to beat Cargill. It’s a situation she wouldn’t be in if she had accepted her offer for an alliance—then she’d have someone to blame when Jade destroys her. Both women begin to argue, with Tiffany threatening to beat Kiana up. Giulia interrupts them. “Don’t worry. She won’t be able to talk like that after tomorrow. Or she simply won’t be able to talk at all,” says “The Beautiful Madness” to James. Stratton leaves without another word.
Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre appear on the scene. Green reminds Aldis that Giulia is only nine days away from breaking her record as the longest-reigning United States Champion in history, and that’s starting to worry her. That’s why she’s asking for a match against the Italo-Japanese star. “If Chelsea thinks she’s the better champion, she’ll have the chance to prove it,” says Giulia. Aldis agrees, informing them he’ll schedule the match for next week. Nick leaves, as do James and Giulia. “Arrivederci,” says “The Beautiful Madness.” Chelsea celebrates with Alba, imagining herself as the first woman to win the United States Championship twice. Suddenly, they come face to face with Nikki Cross behind them. Fyre and Green scream in fright and then run away in panic.

Rey Fenix bursts onto the scene! Talla waits for the Mexican in the center of the ring. Fenix charges in fearlessly but is quickly dropped by a big boot from Talla. Now Shinsuke Nakamura runs to the ring! The Japanese star takes on the entire MFT, but the numbers game works against him. A chokeslam from Talla ends Nakamura’s momentum. MFT pose over Rey and Shinsuke as the segment comes to an end.
Drew McIntyre talks with Nick Aldis in the General Manager’s office. Aldis asks if he’s reviewed the contract and, if so, whether everything looks good. “Yes,” replies the Scotsman. “No objections?” asks Nick. “No,” Drew quickly responds. Aldis seems surprised. McIntyre wonders if Nick’s afraid he might go out there and say something he shouldn’t once he has a microphone in his hand. Aldis admits he is. “Mate, you’ve got a very, very stressful job. You need to learn to relax. I’ll see you out there,” says McIntyre before leaving.
We return from commercial to see Nick Aldis in the ring, where the contract signing for the Undisputed WWE Championship match taking place tomorrow at Saturday Night’s Main Event will happen. Without further delay, he introduces Cody Rhodes. The fans give him a huge ovation. “Well, Salt Lake City, happy Halloween,” says the champion before taking his seat. Aldis then introduces Drew McIntyre, who takes his time making his entrance.
Aldis places the contract on the table for Rhodes and McIntyre to sign. Both men remain silent as the crowd chants the champion’s name. Drew is the first to grab the document but refuses to sign it. Rhodes, however, wastes no time putting his signature down. Aldis asks McIntyre why he didn’t sign. The Scotsman replies that he can’t sign a contract that favors Rhodes. Nick assures him everything is fair. Drew disagrees, pointing out that any disqualification victory would mean Cody retains the title, which he doesn’t find fair. Tired of his excuses, Aldis tells him to leave so another talent who actually wants this opportunity can sign the contract instead. “Alright, bring one of them out then,” says McIntyre before getting up and heading backstage. However, Cody stops him. “Drew, sit down,” he orders. The Scotsman complies. “This better be good,” he mutters while sitting back down.
Rhodes isn’t naive. He knows what Drew wants—he wants clauses added to the contract stating that a loss by count-out or disqualification would cost Cody the championship. “Yes, that’s right,” replies Drew. “I’m 110% on board with that!” exclaims Rhodes. Aldis tries to talk him out of it, but the champion is firm in his decision. Cody promises that it won’t be easy for the Scotsman. Satisfied, Drew asks Nick to make the necessary adjustments as Cody suggested. If he has Nick’s word, he’ll sign immediately. Aldis insists he disagrees with the idea. “Nick, please, we all need this to end. Make it happen,” says Cody. “Nick, just do the right thing,” adds Drew. Aldis agrees. “It’s official,” says McIntyre as he signs the contract.
McIntyre turns to Cody, saying that while this is a happy moment for him, it’s also a sad one. The two could have been great friends, but they took different paths. Now Rhodes has become a corporate American, and instead of hating him for it, the fans cheer him every week. Cody might be the “American Nightmare,” but Drew claims he’s the one who does things right—he tells the truth, works hard, and never uses his influence. “I’m from another country and an American citizen. You know what I am? I’m the real American Dream,” says the Scotsman.
Rhodes recalls how both men had to leave WWE to make a name for themselves and earn the company’s attention again. In fact, Drew should be proud because many have followed in his footsteps. However, the similarities end there. “When I got tired of WWE, I had the guts to leave. You, my friend, were simply fired. Good luck tomorrow, Drew. The good guys used to finish last, but then I showed up,” says Cody, ending his remarks.
McIntyre stops him from leaving to assure him that the fans will eventually turn their backs on him. He says Rhodes gives and gives to the audience—so much so that on a night like Halloween, he’s here instead of out trick-or-treating with his daughters. “Tell me, what are their names?” asks the Scotsman. Furious, Rhodes attacks McIntyre, slamming his face into the table. Cody tosses the table aside and grabs his championship, ready to use it as a weapon, but Drew escapes to ringside. Nick approaches Cody to calm him down, which McIntyre uses as an opening to return. Rhodes notices and pushes the General Manager out of the way, leaving himself open for a Claymore. Drew finishes the champion with a powerbomb through the table, smashing it to pieces. McIntyre grabs the belt and kneels beside Cody. “This is your last night as champion, Cody. Go see your beloved family, because tomorrow I’ll take from you what you love most. I’ll become WWE Champion. I swear it. I swear it! I SWEAR IT! I’ll do whatever it takes!” shouts the Scotsman before posing with the title. That’s how this week’s episode comes to an end.
