Ava has become one of the most polarizing women on the entire NXT roster. After not succeeding as a wrestler, The Rock's daughter received a new role: that of General Manager of the developmental brand. However, despite being very beloved by the fans at the Performance Center, there are those who believe she has a privileged position because she is her father's daughter.
Furthermore, her General Manager character has also been criticized, with many pointing out that she lacks the leadership that a person in charge of a program should have. So much so that the well-known Wrestling Observer journalist Bryan Álvarez exploded against Ava after the latest NXT show, stating that The Rock's daughter did not live up to the circumstances.
"I'm sick of the story where Ava is a damn incompetent. I mean, she allowed the show, within the storyline, to be ruined by those damn guys (Ricky Saints and Trick Williams). She did nothing about it. She didn't fine them, she didn't suspend them. Nothing. She just let them ruin the damn show, and then at the end she just says: 'We need to solve this problem. Trick, you'll have a title rematch. A Last Man Standing Match in two weeks,' or whatever the damn show is. And I think, are you kidding me? They ruined your damn show, and your decision is to give that guy a championship match? You're rewarding that damn guy. It was like: this show sucks!"
It is worth mentioning that Trick Williams "kidnapped" NXT to demand a new opportunity for the top Championship after his defeat at Halloween Havoc. Ricky Saints wasted no time in interrupting him to start a brawl that unfolded throughout the show, even influencing the main event of the night, where Kelani Jordan retained the Knockouts World Championship against Jordynne Grace.
"The funny thing is... I'll give Ava one thing. She is the most consistent character in all of professional wrestling, without exception. Consistently and damn terrible. And her gimmick is that of a lazy Gen Z, a plugged-in person who doesn't want to work at all. Everyone else has to do the work, and she gets the credit!," Álvarez added.
These statements reached Ava's ears, who decided to respond sarcastically through a tweet. "Man... I also remember my first day on Earth", wrote the NXT General Manager to compare the journalist's statements with those of an immature man.
