WWE shortens Zelina Vega's name

WWE has made a small but significant change on its official website: Zelina Vega now appears simply as Zelina in the list of superstars. The adjustment coincides with her new role on television, where she has started accompanying and representing her real-life husband, Aleister Black.

The change in dynamics began on October 10th, when Zelina interfered in the Last Man Standing Match between Black and Damian Priest. Her distraction allowed the former NXT champion to throw a fireball at Priest's face, securing the victory. Since then, they have appeared in vignettes that solidify their on-screen alliance as a dark and powerful couple.

Although Zelina and Aleister Black have been married since 2018, this is the first time they collaborate within a television storyline. The new direction marks a significant change in the wrestler's career, who until recently competed as a solo act on SmackDown.

Prior to taking on her new role, Zelina had enjoyed a notable individual push: she won the United States Women's Championship by defeating Chelsea Green in April, although she lost it to Giulia in June. After several failed attempts to regain the title, she was eventually moved to the SmackDown roster at the beginning of the year, following her stint with the LWO. Her alliance with Aleister Black could bolster her career at a critical moment.
