The iconic 1241 East Main Street in Stamford, known for decades as Titan Tower and WWE's headquarters from 1985 to 2023, could definitively leave behind its past in sports entertainment. According to The Stamford Advocate, a new proposal suggests transforming the building into a complex of 84 high-end apartments.
The former headquarters was acquired in January 2025 by the real estate company MB Financial Group for 3.75 million dollars. Their intention is to completely redesign the exterior with a new limestone and aluminum facade, while maintaining original elements such as the building's glass structure.
The plan has not yet gone through Stamford's planning authorities, so there is no official timeline. For now, the iconic building retains its structure, although most of its interior was emptied long ago when WWE moved its headquarters.
WWE moved to Titan Tower in 1985, and for almost four decades, the building became one of the company's most recognizable landmarks. Memorable vignettes were filmed there, a Super Bowl commercial was shot, and even an episode of Monday Night Raw was broadcast entirely from the tower during a historic snowstorm in Connecticut.
In 2020, the building was also the setting for the cinematic Money in the Bank due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which led several wrestlers to navigate offices, hallways, and the rooftop of the building to reach the briefcases.
The company left Titan Tower in March 2023 to complete the move to its new Global Headquarters in downtown Stamford. The relocation aimed to modernize infrastructure and unify all departments under one roof, something that was not possible in the old facilities.
During their time at Titan Tower, WWE had teams spread across nearby buildings and even a permanent security guard to facilitate employee traffic between offices. Today, all staff work in a single complex, with a 16-year lease contract and renewal option.
