The defeat of Giulia on November 7 in WWE SmackDown puzzled a significant part of the locker room and the fans. Not only did she fall in just over a minute, but she also lost the United States Women's Championship after a combination of distraction and trickery.

The outcome came when Alba Fyre interrupted the action at ringside, allowing Chelsea Green to execute a roll-up grabbing the ropes to secure the three count. A dirty ending that abruptly ended Giulia's 133-day reign, who exploded in anger at the end of the match and promised to sweep away everything in her path.

On social media, the criticism was immediate. Many fans considered it a mistake to cut short a reign that had elevated the prestige of the title and solidified Giulia's image as one of the strongest figures in the women's division.

However, according to information from Cory Hays (BodySlam.net), the decision could have a greater purpose. WWE has reportedly had a plan in the works for weeks to place Giulia in the main event scene, and this twist will serve to free her from her role in the midcard.

The plan weeks ago was to bring her to the main scene. Hopefully, it still is, and that defeat against Chelsea responds to that reason.

With the title now out of the equation, rumors are growing about a possible collision with Jade Cargill for the WWE Women's Championship. This matchup would place Giulia at the top level of the division, exactly where many fans have seen her since her debut, just as it has happened with Stephanie Vaquer on Raw.
