Ridge Holland has decided to put an end to the GoFundMe campaign that appeared this week and shook the fan community. The Englishman clarified on social media that he never gave the green light to the initiative and didn't even know the page was going to be activated. He explained that a family member created it without consulting him, and he found out about it when the link was already circulating.
Holland's message, posted on X, was straightforward: he appreciates the support but does not want people to donate money on his behalf without having discussed it beforehand. He also confirmed that he has requested contributions to stop and that the closure will be effective "in the next 24 hours".
Besides closing the fundraising, Holland surprised by explaining what he will do with the funds already raised. When he receives the money back, he will donate it entirely to an NGO. His stance was applauded by many followers, who highlighted the transparency of the former WWE superstar in a delicate moment for him.
Thank you all for the incredible support shown through the GoFundMe campaign. However, I want to clarify that I didn't know the page was going to be published, and I had no prior conversation with the family member who created it. I have requested that no more donations be accepted, and that change should take effect in the next 24 hours.
The British wrestler is going through a complicated stage since his departure from WWE, marked by a serious neck injury that may require cervical fusion. In October, he confessed that the blow had left him without income and unsure how to face basic expenses. His situation generated a wave of support that, as he has now emphasized, he did not want to turn into a donation that he had not personally authorized.
While deciding whether he will need surgery and continuing his rehabilitation, Holland faces another battle: controlling his situation and making it clear that, even in the midst of the storm, the final word is still his.
